I bought it on vinyl accidentally, and I don't have a vinyl player!

ive got their first one too really like it. i just got their new one tho so ive been trying to get into it. I agree with darkmatter on explosions in the sky too. their songs bleed into one another in not so good of a way but i love almost all of the songs individually off of TWINACDP. its just as an album on the whole, it doesnt quite do it for me. |
Really? I love the way the songs bleed into one another, especially in between SDATBOTO and Memorial. |
thats not quite what i meant. songs can bleed into another and sound perfectly amazing. in fact my favorite albums all have that aspect to them. In this case, i may have used a wrong turn of phrase, the songs sound too much alike for me, a little too repetitive. i like them in small doses but i have a hard time sitting through a whole 60 minutes of it.

I'm heavy on SILVER MT. ZION's "Horses in the Sky" now. It's superb. It has proved that they're INDEPENDENT unit, not just a GYBE-offshot. Awesome. I could go with 5 stars, but it's gonna be 4, becuase I already feel a certain invisible pressure |
Love that album. Love the band too. While Godspeed are conveying images with their music, ASMZ does it with the lyrics and both have the same impact on me. Efrim simply owns.

ive been getting into God is an Astronaut lately. great stuff, and most of their songs come in at under 6 minutes with a few exceptions which is strange for a post band. memorable melodies and great dynamics. one to check out! im also digging the new red sparrows stuff, really cool

Both very awesome! I think God is an Astronaut is kind of underappreciated. Their songs are simpler than most, but they're just absolutely beautiful. Red Sparowes is in my top 3 post rock bands as well. Every Red Heart is great, but I like the first record better.

I don't understand why Explosions in the Sky take a lot of heat on this site. To me they are one of the best and now all there albums are under the 4 mark.

I think it's a little too same-soundy to be honest, but I should give it more listens....

^^^ Yeah, that was the album that introduced me to post-rock and what an introduction it was! Still probably my favorite post album.
