Looks like the Brewcrew doesn't want to win the NL Central these days.

The Tigers just finished sweeping the Indians one series after sweeping the White Sox.  Great time to get hot.  I believe that the magic number is now 12 for the Tigers over the Indians.  I think that it is 13 over the White Sox.  19 games to play.

A 1/2 game from being mathematically eliminated. At least it took till September for the Buccos to be taken out of it this year.

And a great time was had by all...at least those not wearing black jerseys and white sox.

what the hell?  LOL

I know that the San Antonio Spurs would also play some DT during their games.  Don't know if they still do or not.

And today Chicago is up 8-1 and loses!

The Miguel Cabrera walk-off homer was epic! What a comeback! Of course, a comeback wouldn't be necessary in this instance if they had immediately placed Brad Penny for assignment. "Bad Penny" is a guaranteed 5+ run pitching effort.
What an epic game!!!  When the score was 8-1 I said that I was going to leave if the game went into rain delay since it wouldn't be worth sticking it out for.  Good thing that it was 8-5 when the rains moved in.  Stuck it out with about 10,000 other folks and saw an epic ending.  Radio-Raburn actually came through with a clutch 2-run home run (this is why we stuck with him all year even though he sucked so bad in the 1st half, yet again) and then Cabrera finally came through in a clutch late inning situation.  He is such an awesome player, but in my opinion he is hardly ever comes through in key situations at the end of the game.  At least not as frequently as certain Yankees or guys named Pujols or Ortiz who always seem to be on the highlight reels for late inning game winning home runs.  Anyhow GREAT game.  One thing going for the Tigers come playoff time is that teams usually switch to 3 or 4 man rosters, so no more Bad Penny to have to endure.

Man, I wish Brett Lawrie had been with the Jays for a larger chunk of the season.  Technically he would have if he hadn't been injured.

Someone here has to know this:  How many games does a player have to play before they are out of the running for Rookie Of The Year for the next season?
a rookie formally defined as a player with less than 130 at-bats, a pitcher with less than 50 innings pitched, or anyone with less than 45 days on any Major League roster.

I figured you'd have the answer. Smile

The local media is taking their hype to an all new high,  projecting Lawrie's production over a full season.  I just hope he doesn't go all Eric Hinske on us in a few seasons.  I doubt that would be the case though.
I was in Toronto last weekend and went to the game on Friday between the Rays and the Jays.  I could tell that the crowd had a bit more energy when Lawrie stepped to the plate.  I could definitely tell that the fans were excited about him.  I am pretty certain that he hit a home run during that game.  It was pretty much the only highlight for the Jays.
