Duke is a very good album by a band in decline. Caress of Steel is a very good album by a band in its youth.
Caress of Steel by a margin.

Duke is a classic five star album, that of a band at the height of their powers.
COS is an album by a band who would find greatness later.
Easy choice for me.

Duke by far. Caress of Steel is a good album, but I think it's probably one of Rush's lowest points. I consider Duke, however, to be one of Genesis' best, among the ranks of their classic albums

Despite a couple of low points, I will vote for Duke. COS is a little more patchy in places, although Fountain is one of my favourite Rush tracks.

2 more albums, both around the 3.50 rating on PA. Musically, they are very different - Duke having a very symphonic atmosphere, and more towards prog pop than rock; Caress Of Steel being a more blues-based album but bringing in much more adventurous/lengthy songs.
Both are big favourites of mine, and I think they're very underrated, but my vote goes for "Duke" by Genesis. The music on there is really tight, great chemistry between the members, pretty consistent throughout. "Caress" still feels a bit incomplete to me, like they're still looking for their sound, but without a doubt a great listen and so much fun to play along to!
As always, thanks for any feedback
