Benefit has always been mine. Great mix of rock, folk, and a last gasp from the early blues influences.

A Passion Play is the greatest, even better than Thick as a Brick,
except for the Hare Who Lost His Spectacles section. Either way,
Passion Play got my vote. Close call though.

Hard to say.
I like every music decade of Tull.Even the eletronic stuff.
But the most outstanding albums are Roots to Branches, Thick as a Brick, Chateu Disaster Tapes and the three Folk Rock Albums.
At least at the moment
I`ve forgotten Thick as Brick

My favorite Tull album is Benefit. I don't think I could call it their best, but it is my favorite.

I think the complete heavy horses session of 15 songs and the complete aqualung session of 20 songs are probably even better than thick as a brick

I really like Thick as a brick but at time I got the taste of A passion
play and the more I hear it the more I love it. IMO their best, most
complex, most ambitious work and the hardest to apreciate. Truly a
masterpiece in every sense of the word

Top five:
Minstrel in the Gallery
Aqualung
Songs From the Wood
Heavy Horses
Thick as a Brick
Really they do not have a bad album IMO. Their bottom three would be Rock Island, Catfish Rising and Roots to Branches.

Jethro Tull certainly have some
impressive albums, but “Thick
as a Brick” tops them all and
it is one of the finest albums in
Progressive Rock history.
“Minstrel in the Gallery” would
be my second preference, also
very good.
