Just heard this on the news.

The tribute clip was excellent and he played with some of the best such as BB King. The news report played clips of his 'Friday on my Mind' classic among others, and talked about his contribution to guitar metal. I saw his video many years ago and really enjoyed the melodic and acomplished guitar.

He has been taken too soon, too young.

RIP Gary Moore.

Post some responses here too - the MMA have some lovely tributes...
very sad.

Stunned.  On of my earliest influences in music.

Farewell, Gary.

RIP

Played with Colosseum II as mentioned but also turned out for Cozy Powell and Greg Lake. Probably one of the most talented guitarists ever. I don't think anything was beyond him.

btw I had the pleasure of meeting his brother Cliff about 10 years ago.Nice bloke.

Incredible!

I went to see him live once, at the Victims Of The Future tour.

A great talent for song writing, and a very emotional guitar player.

He will be missed Cry

Heartbreaking news IMHO the most under-rated and versatile guitarist in music period!!! Maybe now, sadly, he'll get the recognition he deserved!!
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Rest in peace, Gary. You'll be missed over here. Nobody deserves a heart attack, certainly not at the age of 58.

Gary was probably my favourite guitarist. He put so much emotion into his playing. The rooms will indeed seem empty tonight.
