That sounds delicious, I'm really looking forward to this!

OH THANK GOD. I swear to god, I hope they don't let him ruin this project with his overly meticulous drumming.

Ha!

Had to add this Big smile . . .
Portnoy and Akerfeldt from the Progressive Nation Tour.  "Lets talk Music" Wink

Funny Akerfeldt mentions Scott Walker, and I just did a Parody of the "30 Century
Man" Album Cover for a Rock/Alternative Band "The Jigsaw Seen".  A song they
re-did for an episode of Futurama.

Very low-key interviews, like friends just hangin' out, pretty cool Smile.

Forgive me,
Dont want to start a "lets bash Portnoy again" thread but, from many interviews I've seen of Portnoy,
he IS into the same musics as Wilson and Akerfeldt and is an Audiophile as well.
(I get the feeling Wilson isn't into DT's music either, but we may be wrong . . .)

And I think Portnoys drumming in DT, Transatlantic, Neal Morse, OSI and now Avenged Sevenfold
are very diversive/distinct from each other. Especially OSI, even though they may have been
"tweaked" by Kevin Moore, I see no reason why Portnoy wouldnt like to expand his repertoire and
tackle new territory Big smile.
OSI "Memory Daydreams Lapses":

Making of:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBjX7XxDcWI

And . . . he's done Tributes to (Live and Studio) The Who, Rush, Iron maiden, Metallica, The Beatles
and Led Zeppelin. I've noticed he does his best to emulate each Drummer.
Note: I did not mention Liquid Tension Experiment, and John Arch because he plays a similar style
as DT.  "Redoux" on DT bonus tracks/etc., he adds his flavour to them as well.

Maybe Portnoy is doing what Wilson wished he had done, keeping his mouth shut Wink.
If with or without Portnoy, I am very much looking forward to it, AND Akerfeldt's "Acoustic" Album!

By the way, for those not familiar: Listen to OSI's "Blood" album and the Track "Stockholm" with
Akerfeldt on vocals and Porky Trees "Gavin Harrison" on Drums (Gavin plays entire album).
Gives you a taste in the unexpected Smile.

He isn't into their music but from what I have heard he gets along fine the DT boys and I wouldn't be surprised to see Portnoy on board.

In a way, I think I'd prefer that. Tongue Just not sure how Portnoy would fit in with the supposed "very experimental" nature of the project. I just think if it will be experimental there are better drummers for the job.

Though it would be interesting to see how he'd adapt to it. And either way, this does look and sound exciting.

I agree with all that.

Being a fan of all three of these guys bands, this is an automatic buy for me, of course. Can't wait to hear it! What will it be called? AWP? WAP? PAW?
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

eh... I'm not hyping or expecting to hear something conventional because I know how easily their output could differ from what I'm thinking it will sound like.  Basically, I'm not going to dwell on what I think it should sound like but rather take it for what it is when they finally release the album.

Love these guys but am I the only one who thinks this may not live up to the hype?

It's interesting to hear it's not going to be progressive metal since that's what Akerfeldt and Wilson are both primarily into right now.

Hmmm, we'll just wait and listen (most definitely). Hopefully it doesn't sound like anything they've done previously. Clap
