Sooner or later it will happen, then all negativists ought to be refused to attend to any concerts.

I Saw Genesis in Amsterdam....I waited for this day for 15 long years. I thought it was really fantastic.......but yes..some songs were played slower....and it didn't have much of the power that previous tours had. But it was as good as it could get I guess.

I am indeed also waiting for a reunion of all 5 members.....I think it would be nothing short of amazing just to see how it works out. But I dont expect to see the same glory / and shere of legend that it had baack in the 70's. The guys grew older and changed alot over the years.........They simply do not have the energy anymore to play the songs the way they did so back in the old days. I think in one way because they all got better....and in the other way cos they got simply got older.

Peter and Steve are perfectly fine with playing old stuff (Gabriel even seriously concidered to add Suppers Ready to the setlist of his last tour) and Gabriel is still playing quite a few Genesis songs on his tours (only check out whats passing bye on all his Archive cd's). I however think that the other 3 are not really interested cos it will lead them out of the spotlights and diverse them back to the 2 that were once the real stars of the band.

Besides I wonder if Steve will ever forgive Tony for call Daryl a better player stan Steve only because he can play so fast.....rediculous.......

I have the WOMAD LP.  Haven't heard it in years as I don't have the ability to play LPs anymore.

And by the way, if I were in Rome, I'd seek out some good Italian prog rather than see the three old farts doing a reunion. Tongue

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

It's possible toņo...I saw his performance on drums in the last tour (not a proggy one), but his playing remains great...Again, they mentioned a performance of the whole lamb album, great idea...Hope it comes true soon..

In that Genesis When In Rome DVD Collins mention a project of recording The Lamb Live and the project is still in discusion, but Collins have retired from the music scene last year. Would be fantastic....But I remain skeptical. Guess they will make one appearence to be taped for DVD...

Agreed-would have to include Hackett.  But, would he really get on stage with Banks ever again?

I saw Steve Hackett perform as part of an acoustic trio alongside his brother and someone else. It was a really small venue (no more than 200 seats or so) so he talked with the audience for a bit between songs and at the end. He seemed like a really nice guy and when Genesis inevitably got brought up, he said he would reunite as long as Peter was also willing.

Possible as long as everyone is still alive.  Desirable is another matter.  Hackett and Gabriel are still making good new music on their own.  While the other three...

IF they did have a reunion and IF they came to Michigan and IF I was able to go I wouldn't miss it, but thats a lot of ifs. Being born in the MI, USA doesn't place you too close to many good prog bands, although the Trans-Siberian Orchestra always stops at the Van Andel arena.

I'd be intrested to hear why as well, for some reason i always thought as Banks as the quiet one.

Me too, did they not get along or what? I haven't heard anything about that.

This has to be one of the most tedious recurring threads ever!

Would anyone really want to see five grumpy old men trying to relive past glories!

It would be embarrasing!
