here is my list but difficult 'cause I love all Genesis's albums even their pop albums. as number are? 1. Trick Of the Tail, for the music and Phil Drumming is quiet amazing. Selling England for the Music and the amazing vocals of Pet. Their 2 best albums. 2.Nursery Crime, Wind and Withering 3.The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. the amazing vocals of Pet. 4.Trespass for peter vocals. Foxtrot for the music. 5. and then there were 3. Awesome underrated album. Phil vocals at his best. 6. Duke I their last prog album. 7. We Can't Dance. Fading Light is very proggy. 8. Abacab "Me and Sarah Jane" is quiet amazing. but live is even better. 9. Invisible Touch. good pop album
I don't like Calling.
Live? Second Out Genesis Live 3 sides live

MMM bit of a sweeping statement there Zargus. Music has been my main interest for the last 30 years (since I was 15) and I think that Duke is a very good album. Duchess features one of Collins' best vocal performances. Duke's Travels and Duke's End (although lifting the idea from 'Los Endos') feature some brilliant instrumental passages and the reprise of 'Guide Vocal' is a definite hair-stand-up-on-the-back-of-the-neck moment. Behind the Lines and Cul-De-Sac are also great tracks. 'Turn it on Again' is definitely one of the band's strongest singles.
David Hentschel's production is rich and full, and to my ears is not 'sterile'.
I strongly disagree with you, but you are entitled to your opinion, and though I disagree with you, I wouldn't insult you (lazy peopel thats not realy intrested in music (sic))

It's not as bad as a lot of people make out. Certainly not worth more than three stars, it was, at least, an honest attempt to return to a somewhat darker sound than the later Collins LPs, and I wish they had perservered, because I really enjoyed seeing Ray Wilson live, and the show was excellent. I honestly think they could have produced some really good work had the other two not taken fright at the poor commercial sales.

1. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
I'm very much into dream interpretation and I find the dream imagery, the archetypal qualities and the mystical conclusion as examples of some of the best lyrical content ever made for an album. Plus some of Steve Hackett's first great guitar passages are found here. Variety of song styles.
2. A Trick of the Tail
Overall mood and song quality
3. Wind & Wuthering
Same
4. Selling England By The Pound
Awesome songs mixed with ones I'm not so into
5. Foxtrot
Supper's Ready and Watcher of the Skies carry this one for me
Calling All Stations
Great songs with some great jams working into that pop
Duke
Great opening and closing suites with some great additional pop songs
6. And then there were three...
Where pop and prog mix well
7. Trespass
The energy of a young band minus some of the musicians that made this band great
8. Nursery Cryme
Maybe I have listened to this one too much now and my ears won't hear it so much; Fountain of Salmacis still rocks
Genesis
Abacab
We Can't Dance
Invisible Touch

I've been listening to a lot of Genesis these past few days, so maybe I'll give this a shot. The current order somewhat accurately:
1. A Trick of the Tail (could be one of let's say top 40 best albums ever if the second side was as good as the first)
2. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (my newest purchase from them, might
turn out to be their best album and the best prog double album ever
when given more time)
3. Wind & Wuthering
4. Selling England by the Pound (Epping Forest is not the horrendous
album ruiner it was in the past, but still the weakest with I Know What
I Like.)
5. Trespass
6. Foxtrot
7. Nursery Cryme
8. Duke
9. ...And Then There Were Three...
10. We Can't Dance (has some great pop songs despite being rated lowest)
Haven't heard the rest but will some day. At least the missing pieces between Duke and Dance. edit: And a little tip for the reader: in this above text; best = my favourite
