Well, I recorded my latest sonic work with my digital camera and an unplugged and somewhat untuned strat copy. The mic was surprisingly good for the job, it even caught the sounds of cars from my open window! Smile

Hi!

I like both amp modeling and real amp recording, I don't think one is best than the other, it's just different somtimes. I never used a Vamp but I own a Jstation which is really great too, with fantastic clean sounds! But actually, I record my tube amp, it's more difficult but the sound is different, but most of all, it's a different kind of feeling when we play...

Anyway, pictures would be welcome :)

I'll post pictures later, but there is already many pics of my guitar in the thread where you post pics of your instruments if you want to see.

I use a Behringer V-Amp 2 guitar pre amp/amp modeller/multi effect unit. Admittedly, at best it sounds 80 per cent as good as the real deal tube amp, but for home practicing it's fine, and you can dial in decent tones.
I use direct line in recording (bearing in mind the V-amp 2 is a few years old now, no USB capability) and get pretty good tones.
Hopefully I can upgrade to a more expensive and higher quality guitar pre amp modelling unit for better sound quality and obtain better results.
No sound clips for now, but I can post some up later. I have managed to obtain fairly tube amp sounding recordings with the V-Amp2, so it's a pretty good unit for the price.

Hi everyone!

I thought it could be interesting to talk about home studio here and above all, prog oriented home studio. We could share pictures of our dens, share good gear tips and of course, sound samples!

More and more bands are recording at home nowdays and sound quality's getting better and better. How do you feel about it? Do you record yourself your own music and how?

Let's talk about it Wink
