Haven't heard Sunshower, but Springfever with Philip Catherine on guitar is excellent - haven't played it for a while, so this is a timely reminder. Approve

                                                                    Hello Thomas.

Interesting lists, here are my comments about it:

2- Hobson’s Choice (USA) New Horizons                                1996

I have helped Bhikkhu with information because I have reviewed this CD for Progwalhalla but it seems that he has left PA.

5- Sergio Alvarez (Arg) Escenes de Ficcion                                2000

This Argentine keyboard virtuoso promised me to send me a promo CD, I hope to write about him in the Progwalhalla thread.

10- Iain Jennings (UK) Breathing Space                                    2005

I have reviewed this CD in the Progwalhalla thread, like other non PA bands Nemezis, Moonrise, Tricantropus, Alma (featuring the Nexus guitarplayer) and Signs Of One, good luck Thumbs%20Up

I've got

Wilding-Bonus Pleasure Signals on CD

Joachim Kühn Sunshower and another good one by him somewhere in my LP collection.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

The list contains only outright prog artists/albums, nothing even remotely outside of the genre and sub-genres. I posted here because it's a list and I am not suggesting INCLUSION , just response or comment on whether someone out there has heard any of these "unknown" gems. Then , individually, I would consider escorting them to the suggest bands thread. And get the admins to eveluate each one that has had a response! That's OK, no?

Interesting, would that let Dire Straits in?

/One of the main arguments I've seen against their inclusion is that only Love Over Gold is progressive, and I've seen very few suggestions that that album isn't prog.

Frankly, I don't really mind either way, since it saves me writing a five star review.

This is what I've heard, at least... To have all bands included here that had at least ONE prog album. However, don't take my words as gospel, since I am anything but infallibleWink.

As regards Dire Straits, they have always been favourites of mine, and just  this morning, while getting ready for work, I was listening to their Alchemy live album. Unfortunately, I think you will have understood that here many people go for labels rather than actual musical content... When I added Iron Maiden, all hell broke loose, because there were people who only saw the 'metal' label on them, and deliberately ignored the progressive content of their music (especially their most recent albums).

The bands need to be added to PA before the albums can, so you need to propose the artists via the Suggest New Bands thread.

bahahaha, ouch to the Rush fanboy

You're probably right, but it's been a while since I listened to that album. Maybe I'll put that on next... or tomorrow morning when I get up. 'Tis late over here in Rush land (Canada)

[Edit] - although I don't know that all bands are judged by that one album rule, otherwise Helloween would be here for Keeper Of The Seven Keys (three albums)... IMO anyways! Embarrassed

Hm. I'd have considered the tense, atmospheric Private Investigations the unquantifiably most prog thing on the album (tense, atmospheric, psychedelic and unusual). Love Over Gold and It Never Rains similarly violate structure as much as anything. Even the sarcy thing (Industrial Disease, IIRC) has some odd undertones and choices.

I'd be fine with them not making the cut, even if I think that album is more progressive than Moonmadness and Moving Pictures put together Tongue

can you indicate which genres these albums and bands would fit under? From your forum posts I'd guess they are mostly symph and electronic, not my prime concern, so I only know St. Tropez from the list...

At this point, it would be a harder task to find 20 non-prog albums not on PA Tongue
