Someone probably called you out on this already, but in those 15 years they only released 5 albums(and CAS is arguably pretty prog) as opposed ot the 9 undisputably prog albums in the 70-80 progressive era. Without Genesis, 3/4 of these bands wouldn't exist and there'd be no need for a "progarchvies" site because noone would care. |

Prog is the new punk, becuase kids who shop at Hot Topic don't know Bill Bruford is God.

Sounds like you're scared that people might take it seriously and put Metallica in the archives... The only reason it's still on the front page is because you keep replying - so it must be a topic dear to your heart, no? |

Yes, Metallica has had significant influence on prog-metal, and they are a great band with some minor progressive elements. No, Metallica are themselves not prog. |

There are bands out there much more deserving to be added than Metallica...

agree wholeheartedly. But my position remains the same. Yes, Metallica has had significant influence on prog-metal, and they are a great band with some minor progressive elements. No, Metallica are themselves not prog. |

Never mind the votes in the poll, the votes against are just as fake as the votes for. The fact that some wanted to take it seriously is a clear indicator that b) is a valid observation. |

I looked at the date and considered it, but a) it was after midday (which may or may not matter) b) Metallica are worthy of consideration, as this poll has proved. c) For an April Fool it would have been better/funniner to have suggested a totally unlikely band like the Beatles or the Scissor Sisters. |
