yes - under controlled farming/free range conditions, but not rare species living wild ! most worrying is that most are in danger from having their natural habitat destroyed through deforestation and climatic conditions caused by pollution.

"products" claimed from hunting endangered species are not needed in this modern age, there are many alternatives!

Pandas are the rarest bears and their forest habitat is fast disappearing. Forest loss is caused by expansion of agricultural land, intensive harvesting of timber, use of wood for fuel and other forest products, and overgrazing. Each year an area of forest larger than the UK is lost - a rate of 30 hectares every minute.
123 tigers left in Nepal. It's vital that we do everything we can to protect these beautiful creatures.
Orang-utans are now found only on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Habitat destruction and fragmentation - caused by commercial logging and clearance for oil palm plantations and agriculture - are by far the greatest threats that these amazing creatures face. If the current rate of deforestation continues, Borneo could lose most of its lowland forests in less than ten years.
Bottlenose dolphins are wild, intelligent and inquisitive mammals. Dolphins face a multitude of dangers, such as fishing, pollution, collisions with ships, entanglement in fishing gear and habitat degradation.
Asian elephant populations have decreased dramatically as their habitat is encroached upon by logging and agricultural clearance. Forest clearance is a worldwide problem destroying nature, damaging communities and distorting trade. Around half of the world's original forests have now disappeared, and they are still being removed at a rate ten times higher than any possible level of re-growth.
The greatest threat facing rhinos today is the demand for their horn, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine, and is traded illegally.

I'm not a militant vegetarian. Don't worry. Actually, I can't imagine being one. I love meat!
But, as oliverstoned pointed out, if we have to kill animals we should avoid causing their unnecessary suffering.

It's not the fact that some people eat this or this animal which is so shoking, but rather the way they raise/hunt/kill it.
"Modern" and cruel ways of fishing which consist to fish
the more possible, all the fishes without distinction, including mothers and young will result that fish livestock will be exhausted in 2050. Here's what happens when you don't respect nature.

This has been tried before, but the Japs don't seem to care. It doesn't
matter what we tell them, they haven't listened yet and they will
probably continue ignoring stuff like this petition. I do think it's
wrong to hunt dolphins the way they do, but I also think it's futile to
try to convince them. We haven't succeeded yet, why would we this time?

Yes, mink or fox stock farming are almost as cruel as the asian barbarians...Synthetic fur looks as nice as animal's one, so it's pure cruelty and greed.
That should be forbidden, like Corrida and "Foie gras" (already forbidden in some countries BTW).
