If anyone can find a similar band or artist that is doing anything remotely similar to what she's been doing for the past 20 years, I'd be very suprised. She's the very definition of progressive (I can't think of any album that is more challenging than her albums 'Schrei X', 'Litanies of Satan' or 'Vena Cava').

If people would rather allow yet another 'neo-prog' band on the site, re-hashing everything that was already done in the 70s by Genesis and Yes, before allowing Diamanda on, then go ahead. However, it seems ridiculous to keep such an important artist as Diamanda off the site as she is making genuinely progressive music that pushes boundaries.

If the admins can watch every video here - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=diamanda and still say she's not progressive in nature, then so be it. However, the range of styles she's covered (classical piano, jazz, free jazz, blues, avant-garde, rock) surely denote her as highly progressive (when you take into account she doesn't play those styles normally - but completely twists them to make something new)

I am sorry, but since site policies have been updates, I can't add her to the prog-related category without approval of Admins (they are in charge of this now, and for good reason). However I will make a case argument for her and submit it to them. It will however take me time, since I am in charge of other things here which take most of my time (and are mostly unnoticed by forum members).
If you are interested in helping me make a solid case for her addition, please, post your comments on why she should be added.
I will write down my case and take your comments as well and together with some music samples, hand it over to the admin team.

Thanks

Assaf

Diamanda should certainly be on the site - she's more progressive than a massive % of the bands already featured, and better too.

She has been approved as prog-related by the ZART.

I will be ading her sometime in the future after the other bands I will add to RIO/Avant.

haha, good question, but i think the answer is rather no

at most, it might be prog related, due to its extreme avangardist nature, but then again, you don't see Laibach around here, even though they're avantgarde, albeit in a pretty much different vein

however, the avantgarde scene on PA is starting to get pretty diverse so i wouldn't be surprised of additions such as this or The Red Masque one day

a simple question, would have to be the Avantgarde singer Diamanda Galás on Progarchives?
