ClapClapClapafter three days of incredible and outstanding music in the mountains of France, i can only say that this has been one of the best events i´ve ever attended. I wish next year there´s another chance to enjoy superb musicians from old and young generations to make us all enjoy the dark side of music.ClapClapClap

otherwise, still waiting for martin and chris review Wink

Oh wow, this sounded amazing!

Let's hope they repeat this next year, so more of us can meet up and meet some of our heros (both PA and RIO related) and see some of the most amazing and challenging bands in the world.

I'm presuming Steve Feigenbaum doesn't deal with Wayside orders himself, 'cause my order from them arrived Monday morning. LOL

coming down slowly.........after great concerts, a great athmosphere, having shared all this with Chris, Flora, Royal Jelly, Slipperman & friends, bad weather & having had  breakfast with John Greaves, Chris Cutler, Aymeric Leroy, Steve Feigenbaum,  Bob Drake, Jean Herve Peron, Dave Kerman all at the same table it's just hard to get back to the grindstone.... looking forward to next year and to see some more of you there.Wink

PS Hugues we missed you

PS2 wait for some upcoming clips of the festival on 'You Tube' (will take some time so)

PS3 Assaf , finally we didn't made it to 'L'auberge Du Sanglier, but we get some great stories from people having lived that period!

The event seems to have been a success and there's already talk of another one maybe next year. There was a lot of other interesting gossip, but more of that later...

Chris, Martin,

My heart is definitely damaged for having missed thisDeadCryOuchEmbarrassed. The only thing that soothed it, is that I finally got to see VdGG in concert, last sunday. They  were amazing too, even if Jaxon's sax was missing to all of us, but the trio was so StarstellarStar that by half the concert, it could seemed that VdGG's music could easily have been without it.

Magnificent gig, but it only mended partly the loss of not meeting you guys there.

Problems with the girlfriend's house is solved, going to the judge this afternoon. The car problems turned out not as expensive as originally thought. Not the head gasket, but the water pump was shot.

Cool!

Could you tell him I liked the bio he wrote for Vortex and in their sleeve of the reissue of their two albums? It was a great guide when I added them to PA.

Have a great time!

Martin (Alucard) and myself will be there, and I'll certainly be happy to meet any fellow forum members - pm me and we can fix something up.

Oh, regardless of the festival of this thread, let me recommend you a great RIO album from a non-Freanch speaking country. Spanish quartet OCTOBER EQUUS has released their eponymous debut album earlier this year, and it's really great!! The oppressive dynamics of  Presenet, the challenging deconstructions of classic Henry Cow and the ultra-neurotic vibe of Wetton-era King Crimson are cleverly combined in their sound.

Check their entry in PA for further details.

  Kind regards.

Judging by their recently released third album "ZePTO", the NeBeLNeST performance in this RIO Festival should be epic.

Cheers to all those who will attend!

I would love to go to this but I know for certain I shan't be able to afford it. All you lucky chaps who'll be there had better give me a detailed report on your return!

Ho hum.

How about us Brits, Sean?

I hope I can somehow get there, but I cannot hold any promises.  I'd love to go though!  This is the sort of show we need in the UK and as France is just across the pond, this is an idea.  All I need is someone to go with, some kind of way of getting there and I'm sorted.

Not sure if I'll have my car by then, but I should have.  However, I've never driven abroad before and it could be a bit daunting.

Hugues, you're familiar with travelling to the UK by Train, so is it a good idea to go to Paris on the Eurostar, then to Toulouse and then to Carmaux?

And if we're doing Hotels... I think we should all try and get in the same hotel, or as close as possible, for that ultimate prog experience!

Message and anwer from Dave Kerman (drmmer of Present) to Roger Trigaux 5present master and master of ceremony in Carmaux, next spring):

I wrote to both Michel and Roger, explaining that
some people from N. America were interested in making
the trip. I asked how these people could be assured
tickets.

Their reply was:

Hello Dave ! (Dave Hello)
Tickets will be on line in a few days, they will can buy it directly through the RIO site (in english). I send your mail to Roger for more security.
Roger, can you answer to Dave ?
Price is 60 euros + location tax (between 2 and 4 euros more) for three days.
Welcome in Carmaux.
Michel

I wrote back, requesting (in more certain terms) that
25-30 tickets be reserved for N. Americans. I'll post
their reply as soon as any word comes in. Dave
