Out of this list, definitely Lake - followed by Gabriel, Anderson and Lee. However, I think both Richard Sinclair and Ian Anderson would've deserved to be included.

At the moment I'm very fond of Ian Andersons singing but out of these I will chose Jon Anderson. He's also a great singer. Geddy Lee, Fish and Peter Gabriël are good runners up.

Peter Gabriel, probably followed by Jon Andersson.
By the way, I don't know why many people here are so amazed with Fish. Steve Hogarth is a much better vocalist, although it is only my opinion.

Totally agreed. Another female singer who should have been in the poll is Joanne Hogg from Iona, she really has a beautiful voice and her singing on live records is just as strong as on studio albums.

Out of this list I'd have to vote for Peter Hammill.
But to me the greatest vocalist has to be Comus' Roger Wootton.

Fish?!! Those scaly, slimy, sneaky, bottom-feeding piscatory prey? For shame!
What about us fine feathered folk?

I voted for Anderson (nobody can sing like him), but then I realised that there is another criteria I find most fitting for choosing the best between equally interesting performers: The thing is that Hamill, Anderson, Gabriel, Lee... they are all good, but can also be annoying to many people (I like Gabriel and Anderson, but can't stand Hamill or Fish. I'm in no-man's land for Lee). But I doubt anybody wouldn't like Greg Lake.
So, Greg Lake is my ideal prog singer.
