Over the years I've heard many people lauding many of Floyd's album but it seems to me that Meddle has slipped between the cracks of popular perception. In many ways it could be seen as the band's 'Revolver' in that much of what became the classic ground breaking Floyd sound had it's first outing here. Over and above such standout tracks as 'One Of These Days' (truly one of the best opening tracks of ANY album IMO) and 'Fearless' you have the mighty 'Echoes' that to my ears has elements of both 'Dark Side..' and 'Wish You..' woven into the fabric of the tune.
Gilmour has described Meddle as the album on which '..we first got our focus' and I truly believe that this release forms the true blueprint that all the other albums (including the later non-Roger releases maybe) draws inspiration from.
I believe that this is a great, great album that deserves as much attention as it's more famous cousins.

Does anybody have any views about this?
