Fripp would never play out of tune. His ear is very, very good. That's how he plays. By ear, instead of by muscle memory like Howe.[/QUOTE]
Absolutely disagree with this comment. Two things Fripp hasn't got is an 'ear' for rythm or melody!
Howe wins!

Fripp for me, thought Howe is number two in the prog guitar scene

Have to say Steve since they are both so gifted, but Fripp is more of an asshole...

I don't think Fripp is an amateur. He is just as good as Howe.

Howe has been doing the same solo: "Clap" for his whole carrier.
Fripptronics for me.

Very difficult but Howe I think wins it as a guitarist, though Fripp is more of a mover & shaker.

Steve Howe. Fripp wouldn't even be in my top 20.

Hmm... this is a really even contest. It is really more about which band do you like more, and because King Crimson was more inconsistent in the 70's than Yes, I think I have to say Howe. But he wins it about 51-49 only.

Fripp is my favorite guitar player..... Howe is a virtuoso, but in my opinion, fripp is better ....

You can't really compare them because they're completely different style
players. Unless it is "Which guitarists style do you like better?" So that's what
I decided to vote for and I chose Fripp.

Recently Zarg 2112 has posted a Steve Howe v.s Steve Hackett poll. This gave me the idea to put two of the greatest prog guitarists togeather in a challlange of skill.
Most of you are getting tired of these polls and for that I apologize, here is one more of those polls.
