Obviously I do! I'll make learning about him my mission for tomorrow.

Hard to argue with that! Too bad I'm not familiar with his work yet. In the mean time, Squire for me.

If you like Squire, then obviously you have good taste and you'll like Sheehan.
Check out the Niacin listing in the Archives, or http://www.billysheehan.com to check out some of his stuff.

Niacin is awesome.Dennis Chambers is an incredible drummer
I pick Tony Levin out of the bassists on the list.
You left out Victor Wooten and Bunny Brunel,2 excellent jazz/fusion bassists.

My grip must be flipping
Cos his handshake keeps slipping
My hopes keep on dipping
And his lips keep on smiling all the time

Not saying the best, but have you ever listened Randy "The Emperor" Jackson (Yes the same judge from American Idol ) playing with Jean Luc Ponty, he's amazing
This guy also played with Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin or even
Journey, The Emperor is simply outstanding in Fusion Bass, perfect in
everything, I wonder why he changed so much and ended being a
session musician for N'Sync and Madonna.

Yes, Ivan, I forgot about Randy Jackson. He truly is an excellent bass player, and look where he's at now

Percy Jones or Hugh Hopper, if they were listed. Since they're not, I guess I'll go with Levin.

The other thread about the same topic was somewhat...lacking. So, I decided to make one myself.
I voted for Sheehan, by the way.
