No, because 30 people voted for John Bonham in my Best Drummers poll, although I strongly suspect it was one Led Zeppelin fan voting 30 times.

Strangely, 3 Ships was the most listened to Jon Anderson album on my Prog Britannia channel with over 3000 views, although I've no idea why, when almost any other Jon Anderson album is much better than 3 Ships.

Why Because the results weren’t what you wanted to see? While multiple vote polls are obviously more open to abuse, I suspect (based on those I’ve seen) that instances of that abuse are greatly exaggerated. They tend to be obvious, also, when they occur, so it’s easy to disregard them. |

Sorry Jared. The last time I ran a poll where multiple voting was enabled, it turned out to be an absolute disaster.

^^ Paul, could you allow multiple votes and ask us to vote for 3? The results might be a little more interesting?

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Don't worry, it's going to get a lot better in the poll for 1983: the beginning of the Neo Prog era. A quick preview of who's coming up tomorrow..... Amenophis Anyone's Daughter Tony Banks Blue Oyster Cult ELO Eloy The Enid Gandalf Genesis Steve Hackett IQ Jon & Vangelis Marillion The Moody Blues Mike Oldfield Alan Parsons Project Anthony Phillips Pink Floyd Robert Plant Rainbow Saga Klaus Schulze Tangerine Dream Vangelis YES

I correct myself: Animation is not that bad. I confused it with 3 ships.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

It's starting to become hard... In this list I see the worst albums by Jon Anderson, Camel and Zep. My vote goes to something that I can hardly consider prog: Avalon.

Kate and KC (one of their best, yes, screw the haters, I love BEAT) could get my vote, but I'll toss it to ALLAN. The Grump and I will remain the sole defenders of his solo output (Metheny Group also deserves a nod).

This is a better year for me than the previous, and like 1980, I could have voted for about half of them. The nod goes to Mike Oldfield this time, presenting the best balance between the pop that a certain cloth-eared media mogul wanted and the kind of instrumentals MO is best known for.

Five Miles Out, but I do like Time to Turn and Avalon, though not generally a Roxy Music fan.

It's actually pretty good for post-prime Heep!

Thanks for reminding me about Tangerine Dream, but at least I didn't forget about Jon Lord. I've now replaced Uriah Heep's abominable Abomnog album with TD's far superior White Eagle album.

Another heavy-duty year. I have at least ten of those. Rush will win this easily, so I'll probably vote for maybe Eloy or Twelfth Night (Fact and Fiction means a lot to me).
Jon Lord's Before I Forget is a fantastic solo effort, too. "Tender Babes" is worth the price of admission. Recommended. (Paul, no White Eagle by Tangerine Dream...? )
