Obviously I have mixed feelings because of the way he crushed us and beat us down for so many years. LOL But seriously though, if he doesn't make the HoF on his first ballot I'll be totally shocked. An absolute living legend of the game.

Good riddance, though I don't think he'll actually do it.  He'll pull an ed reed and decide to come back as next season approaches.
Was trying to find a clip of my favorite ray lewis moment but youtube doesn't seem to have the clip of Dan Kreider absolutely crushing him on a block that helped lead to a 90 yard Steelers' TD pass.

They aren't playing tough, they are playing bad with their opponents playing worse.  You ever stop to consider that I actually watch these teams play?  Also, I'd really like to know when I've used any of those phrases you mentioned in relation to Steelers' victories.  If you went back to the NFL thread the year they last made the Super Bowl I almost 100% sure you'll find my posts to be coming from the position of shock that they made it so far with no secondary and one of the dumbest offenses in the league.  I'm guessing I've called the team lucky here before because I know I've done it a ton outside this forum.  Your complete knee-jerk reactionary bullsh*t arguments are spewed with no backing.  I will say at least my awful team beat your awful team this year with no luck required.

As for AP, I didn't see it but I heard his rehab was like...a thing of torture. He wanted to come back from this, and not just come back but be better than before, and he made it happen.

Well...the wonderful nerds at PFF actually ranked the Bengals as the #1 pass blocking O line. They look purely at the linemen and the number of pressures they surrender.
See, the Texans offense just doesn't look the same without a run game, which has been kinda lacking this whole year. All they have is Schaub and Johnson, no matter hoe good you can't win with just a 2 player offenseLOL
The D has no one outside JJ Watt, I think they were never quite as good as they seemedCry

At least the AFC West has a good team in it.  I can't say the same for our sorry AFC North.  Even at that, though, the AFC is so weak, overall, that two sorry AFC North teams made the playoffs.  And GODell wants to expand the playoffs?

That's why I couldn't make such detailed predictions at the beginning of the season. I'd be too ashamed to go back and see how many I got wrong. Kudos to you fine sir for being so bold.

Seattle over Washington - I'd like to see the Skins win but I think the Seabirds defense shuts RGIII down (the Steelers did it so how hard can it be?)
Minnesota over Green Bay - upset special.  If we've learned anything over the last few years it's go with the hot teams.
I'm just going to go in order here.

1) Lol really? I'll take a team that's 7-1 in the last 8 weeks and has improved greatly in form since going 3-5 against the team that's lost their last 4 games, has a much more questionable defense (outside of JJ Watt I'm not sure the Texans have a defense), and a really banged-up O-line. Not to mention I think the Bungles actually have a better defense overall, even with out linebacker and corner issues.

2) I agree with this one, but I wasn't aware the AFC North was a terrible division. Maybe average or mediocre, but I wouldn't call it terrible If it's such a terrible division, why didn't the Steelers make the playoffs? Wink

3) Agree totally with this one.

4) No, there is no such thing as "hot" and "cold" teams. Especially not at the professional level. Those are just buzzwords that get thrown around instead of talking about substance (statistics, team makeup, etc.). You can't look at a team's record to determine their proficiency or inefficiencies. Not to mention that winning at home in a dome is one thing, but going to Lambeau in January can be an entirely different beast.

1.  I think you're heart is clouding your judgement.  Cincy is a bad team and showed it in the last few games, despite being gifted victories.  Houston struggled down the stretch but they got the best possible draw in the AFC. I will admit, there is probably a bit of bias here on my part. I'm optimistic, but cautiously. I don't expect us to be favorites by any means and like I said, I don't expect my Bungles to win either. I think the Texans will do a good job of exploiting the middle of our defense, where we are weakest. If they do it well enough, then we have no shot.

2. AFC North is awful.  Did you watch these teams play?  I sure did and, yeesh. I'd still say it's mediocre. Not great but not terrible. If you want an awful division, look at the AFC West.

3. Wise of you

4. Haven't been paying attention the last few years?  Teams do get on a roll and carry momentum.  Lambeau isn't a big deal, anymore, as seen in last year's game against New York. In fact, their last 3 playoff loses are at Lambeau. I don't care about the records when picking playoff games (wouldn't I have picked Green Bay in this game if I did?).  Green Bay is not the team everyone seems to think they are.  Minnesota isn't a special team, either, and this is the pick I'm least confident about but in a close matchup I'll take momentum, a running game, and a decent defense over no mo, no running game, and a poor defense (I seriously don't get the love for a Green Bay team that's 1/2 of one-sided.). Alright. Since you went ahead and explained it, then I'm okay. I just didn't like that you didn't give more reasons other than "because they're a hot team" originally is all. I get tired of hearing supposedly "qualified" football people on ESPN throw words around like that, and I know you're far more intelligent than most other people out there. LOL

With my 1st round playoff predictions now out I suppose it's time to review the regular season predictions I made way back on 07 September 2012. I certainly didn't have the year I did last year.

All hail M.o.M.'s 2012 NFL Predictions:

AFC EAST:
Buffalo Bills:  7-9  6-10 - Same record they had last year when I nailed this prediction. Shame on me for believing in a one game imporvement
Miami Dolphins:  4-12  7-9 - Certainly didn't see that level of improvement coming considering their QB situation.
NE Cheatriots:  11-5 (hate to do it but the rest of the division sucks)  12-4 - close
NY Jets:  8-8  6-10 - Sanchez more awful than originally thought

AFC NORTH
Baltimore Birdies:  9-7  10-6 - microscopic difference when you look at the games
Cincy Bungles:  8-8  10-6 - thought giving them credit for .500 was generous at the time.  Still trying to figure out how this happened.
Cleve Brownies:  3-13  5-11 - actually looked like a team with some potential, at times
Pittsburgh Steelers:  12-4 (again, I'm biased but I see the Birdies D fading fast this year and Rice finally getting hurt)  8-8 - with the schedule they were handed there is no excuse for this record

AFC SOUTH
Houston Texans:  12-4  12-4 - ding ding ding, we have a winner
Indy Lucks:  6-10  11-5 - amazing year for a team that had absolutely nothing going for it last year.  All hail Luck.
Jacksonville Jaguars:  2-14  2-14 - ding ding ding, another winner
Tenn Titans:  4-12  6-10 - it's hard to say that a 6-10 was worse than it's record indicates but...

AFC WEST
Denver Broncos:  8-8  13-3 - swing and a miss.  Thought there'd be an adjustment period for Peyton coming off the injury and moving outside.
KC Chiefs:  4-12  2-14 - for some reason my most controversial prediction.  Where are you Equality?  Never underestimate the importance of the head coach (this will come up again later).
Oakland Raiders:  9-7  4-12 - giant miss.  Looked to me to be a team on the rise with a real QB for the first time in ages but... nope.
SD Chargers:  7-9  7-9 - bold prediction, considering the teams talent (on paper), pays off.  Norv is an anchor.

NFC EAST
Dallas Cowboys:  9-7  8-8 - this one came down to the wire and I'm happy to be wrong
NY Giants:  7-9  9-7 -  I think JJ would agree that they played more like a 7-9 team Wink.
Philly Iggles:  9-7  4-12 - being too spineless to go with my true feelings about this team cost me big.  Damn you, "experts".
Wash Deadskins:  4-12  10-6 - "and that's a bad miss".  RGIII and the overlooked Alfred Morris carry this team to a shocking record, even in a division that figured to be weak.  Figures this would be the one year I'm not too high on the Redskins.

NFC NORTH
Chicago Bears:  10-6  10-6 - he shoots, he scores
Detroit Lions:  10-6  4-12 - what the hell happened here?  seriously, wtf?
GB Packers:  13-3  11-5 - got the division winner part right but gave them just a tad too much credit overall
Minn Vikings:  3-13  10-6 - another shocker.  Couldn't see anyone coming off of such a major injury to carry an entire team to the playoffs.  If Peterson doesn't get the MVP award then the award is meaningless.

NFC SOUTH
Atlanta Falcons:  12-4  13-3 - close, and they did win the division as predicted
Carolina Panthers:  6-10  7-9 - one game off, yet again
NO Saints:  11-5  7-9 - the team that GODell killed.  Never underestimate the importance of the head coach.
TB Bucs:  2-14  7-9 - miss

NFC WEST
Arizona Cardinals:  2-14  5-11 - a disaster on offense, as expected, but somewhat of a pleasant surprise defensively
SF 49ers:  13-3  11-4-1 - not sure what to make of this team.  completely unpredictible from week to week.
Seattle Seabirds:  4-12  11-5 - huge miss.  where did this come from?  shocked
St. Louis Rams:  5-11  7-8-1 - Fiscer does more than expect with the nothing he has.

The last two teams were the hardest to predict because, while they both stink, they stink in such a way that they could take advantage of better teams letting their guard down.  As it applied to the Rams this statement is exactly right.  The Seabirds seem legit.

I know that in some case, like the Tommy Jones surgery in baseball, the player has a stronger arm after the operation and some players have great career after that operation, maybe it's the case with AP.

That's definitely not the case with ACL surgery.

ESPN give a chart of what time recovery for this ACL operation in the past for some players :
