I have it on iTunes right now while I have a little time. It's OK for what it is. You have to disassociate it from Marillion because it's definitely a solo album. It features drummer Clem Burke from Blondie, and Porcupine Tree's Richard Barbieri.
Yes! Forgot about Raingods With Zippos. Very good disc. I also like Fellini Days, even though it's not a fan favrorite. E E |

Hope the little one gets better soon, Eric.
I got Ice Cream Genius when it came out, and I still find it a difficult album. If I ever get round to reviewing it for the forum, I would probably rate it 3 stars - in other words, good, and, I think, an excellent addition to any Marillion fan's collection. It is very far away from the band's material musically. This is to be expected. H writes the lyrics, whilst the band put together most of the music. Think of a cross between XTC and The Europeans (Dacve Gregory of XTC plays guitars on the album). Finest track is You Dinosaur Thing, which is a classic. Funnily enough, I can't see the album on the Archives - I'll have to correct that!! As regards Fish, in addition to 13th Star (excellent) and the first album, I would also put in a special mention for Field of Crows, which is fantastic, and the equally good Raingods With Zippos, which features a stunning epic to close with. Avoid at all costs Songs From The Mirror, which is a less than one star album of covers. |

Regarding Fish: get his latest 13th Star CD. His solo stuff is spotty, but really nailed it with 13th Star. Vigil In The Wilderness Of Mirrors is also very good.

I bought it a few months ago, but have only heard it once. It is quite different from Marillion, like the previous post indicates. Maybe I'll take it along with me in the car and give 'er a listen.

You said it with Hogart's solo, "he drift away from Marillion. It's atmospheric and he doesn't rock much. But if you like his voice and piano... |

^^sounds good!
Without trying to drift too far away from Marillion, does anybody here own Steve Hogarth's solo album, Ice Cream Genius, and if so, is it good? Thanks! -Joel |

I also hope that new song that Lucy was talking about is included.
The only songs I know for sure that will be on will be "Interior Lulu" and "Quartz". They're definitely changing it up a bit. E |

I'm definitely getting it. I'd LOVE to see acoustic versions of Happiness is the Road and Anoraknophobia tracks.

We should be getting pretty close to the pre-order of L=M. Who here plans on getting it?
I'm getting it, but I'm still not all that psyched up about it. I do have a feeling I'll be pleasantly surprised, but looking more forward to a new disc with all new music. E |

I got into Marillion whilst staying at my mates house in South Africa. He showed me a few documentary dvd's of Marillion and just really got into the band. They all seemed like such down to earth guys.

I'm working my way through the 3 DVD's I bought most recently (Recital Of The Script, Live From Loreley and Brave Live 2002), and I'm loving them all so far.
Great stuff, such an insanely good live performance on the Brave Live disc aswell. -Joel |

Pretty fair site. I really bent their ears when I was having problems with my Marbles deluxe edition.
Really toying with popping in a Marillion DVD tonight. Haven't watched one in a few months. Either that or a movie. Anybody else viewing any DVD's (Marillion or otherwise)? E |
