If I may chime in, the "they" is probably the people (generically speaking) who seem to want to get offended about everything even if sometimes is a rather unimportant thing as Halloween costumes. Look, I agree with protests about racism and police brutality and institutional racism and all, this is just not one of those situations.

Sorry Kolin, just look at a map. Egypt is in Africa, it is an African nation.
As far as what the people looked like way back then, I don't care, skin color and eye color are not important to me.

Skin color is obviously VERY IMPORTANT to you, so I will let all you, and others like you, who are afraid of people who look different from you, make up whatever you want.

Researchers discovered that King Tut belonged to a genetic profile group known as haplogroup R1b1a2. More than 50 per cent of all men in Western Europe belong to this genetic group as do up to 70 per cent of British men. But among modern-day Egyptians, less than 1 per cent of residents belong to this haplogroup, according to scientists. King Tut and Europeans share a common ancestor genetically who lived in the Caucasus region, the blue-eyed race spreading out with agricultural about 9,500 years ago.

People of colour should stop appropriating white culture, and stop using computers, indoor plumbing, automobiles, airplanes, electricity etc.  At that point I will tailor my Hallowe'en costumes to meet their demands.
