Soungarden is more proto grunge then anything, same for Melvins, and Mudhoney and Green River and Malfunkshun, U-man
the first grunge album also probably the first album in sludge metal, and proto post metal, stoner/doom metal,

Soundgarden would be my favorite. I guess Nirvana is my second fav although I really like Pearl Jam because of Ten and Vs. but Nirvana has that realness and raw power none of the other has, and I totally dig that!

Pearl Jam, probably. I used to be really big into Nirvana - almost a Kurt worshiper. I still really enjoy them from time to time.

None, as Alice In Chains and early Stone Temple Pilots aren't mentioned on here. Soundgarden is my #1 band, period. After that:
2. Alice In Chains 3. Nirvana 4. STP... ...then Pearl Jam way down here. I like some PJ, but not nearly as much as they are popular. |

Not liking doesn't mean you don't appreciate it.
1. Pearl Jam (Big fan) 2. Soundgarden (Fan but i don't listen to often) ------- 3. Nirvana (Not a fan) |

I do like Bush's first album. Don't know if that's truly grunge though.

Yes it was a bit snarky I apologise. Just have never been able to love those groups.

Pearl Jam, if only for Ten. Vedder is my favourite vocalist out of the three, and the music hits me the most.
Soundgarden is probably the most adventurous musically speaking, while Nirvana were a great rock band that I never listened too much but I respect.
