Actually he's 38. Embarrassed

All I can do is wait and see.  d'Arnaud is supposedly our No. 1 prospect, and Noah Syndergaard I think was our No. 3.  d'Arnaud has dealt with a variety of injuries, and I read they aren't pleased with Syndergaard's ability to develop a breaking ball (but he's only 20).  They haven't made the playoffs since I was 8, so I'm pleased to see them making a push.

The Jays appear to be trading away some future pieces to get R.A. Dickey.  Odds are that either JP Arencibia or Travis d'Arnaud would be moved sometime within the year, and I'm reasonably pleased with Arencibia's bat for a catcher and his gradually improving defense.  I guess the Jay's front office might have doubts on d'Arnaud's ability to bounce back from his injury mid last season.

Because Scott Yankees fans are getting their "wish"
The team seems dedicated to this whole getting their spending under control.
Many of us gripe about it and I'm glad they're doing it but I was afraid many would flip flop, and indeed the radios have been berserk "GAH WHY DIDNT YOU SIGN (insert name)?" LOL I hope in the long run when we shed the real big $ wasted the Yanks can build more natural teams.

I don't have an issue with players from rivals but this one does have a bit of an odd feel. I mean Youkilis wasn't just a player for the Sahx, he's a guy I think of when you say Red Sox. Kind of like their Jeter. But we'll get over it and if he does well I say welcome to the pin strips you-kill-us!

Why didn't the Evil Empire fork out $80 million for Anibel Sanchez.  Would have saved us Tiger fans a lot of grief.  Good pitcher, but not for $16 million per year.  I hear that that is more than Verlander gets.

So Josh Hamilton has agreed to a 5 year/$125 million deal with the Angels. Are they trying to compete with the Dodgers to see who can become the Yankees of the West or what? What do you guys think?

It's about damn time.  We still need a manager though.
Not now ! Gibby is back !  I think that's a great move and hopefully Anthopolis isn't quite done yet but even if he is this is quite the overhaul.

Not sure how I feel about John Gibbons.  It just feels a bit odd hiring a guy who was already here and didn't have much success (besides one 2nd place finish in the AL East).  At least he has a more well-rounded team to work with.

The Josh Hamilton rumors are still a flyin, fueled that the Yankees are selling their share of the YES network (supposedly $400 million or something like that) soooo everyone is assuming this is a way to open money up for Josh.
Maybe spurred on by some of the huge moves made by the Jays.

If so we'll have to wait and see. I like the guy and he's a great player, but can we just leave faith in him to stay straight or will the crushing pressure and intense night life f**k him up? Cry

The Jays have apparently signed Melky Cabrera to a 2 year deal.  Sounds like they are serious about trying to compete in the AL East next year.

Reyes brings that shadow of doubt...both about how he will hold up physically and how much of his will is being brought....but when he's on he's a very good, I'd even say great, player.
The east is either gunna be a helluva conference, oooooor the Sahx keep sucking and the Yanks finally slide. Thus bringing the day everyone has hoped for: An AL East led by the Os and Blue Jays and Marlins while the Yanks and Sahx fight for last.

....Then the MLB leaders commit suicide

Those NL/AL blockbusters can be a thing of beauty.  Or perhaps I'm way too nostalgic for the Carter/Alomar trade. LOL

Man us Jays fans are pretty excited about this deal. Maybe the jays will be relevant once again. Looking forwrd to April already.
