^ no problem ... I wasn't entirely serious in the post above. But if you're going to use my site as a resource ... keep in mind that I can publish the data as an RSS feed, this can make things much easier. Let me know if you're interested!

Notice Of Intended Closure
Firstly, I would just like to thank everyone who has both contributed to visited this thread over the last couple of months, to pick up information on the latest prog metal releases...
I'm just going to advise that having got this particular thread off the ground, we will be closing it down over the next week or so.
However, do not dispair.... None of you will have failed to notice the incredible work that Steve Mallett had put in towards making this facility what it is, so it will come as no surprise to learn that he is in the process of creating a considerably better product (in fact, it will be a throbbing beast of a thread!!) to replace this one with.
Steve has been working very hard behind the scenes recently, contacting both bands & record labels, to enable PA to offer a very informative, up to date and accurate service on future prog metal releases and information. He will also be offering this in a greatly improved, professional looking format, reflecting his considerably greater PC skills than those posessed by yours truly....
We all look forward to this becoming a facility which PA can be rightly proud of, going forward....

The release date for Cynic's new album 'Traced In Air' has had to be pushed back to Nov 17th (Europe) and 25th (US) for manufacturing reasons...

Adagio
Adagio has just signed with Listenable records (Gojira, Immolation, etc...) for the release of their upcoming album "Archangels In Black" in Europe and Australia. Release date has been set to February 2nd 2009.
The album has been produced and mixed by Stéphan Forté and Kevin Codfert at Kevin’s own studio in Paris during 4 months.
Björn Engelman (Rammstein, Meshuggah, etc…) mastered the album at Cutting Room mastering studios in Sweden.

that's right Scott...I don't want to appear grumpy, but as a general rule, you and I lead busy lives, and have other commitments on PA besides this thread; its all a question of time allocation.
If someone wishes to make more of the concept behind this thread for PA, then they'd be truly welcome, as I think it could be a really useful asset... but left to me, it will be on average, a once-a-fortnight update... |
As I've said before J I'll do whatever you believe is necessary. Can you PM me as to what you think I can do or what is needed and we'll take it from there?
If that helps your commitments to other roles within the site all the better.

We can probably shoot a PM over to Big Boss (who is Shawn Gordon from ProgRock Records) and see if he has any additional info. Their previous album was released on ProgRock Records (or at least distributed). I have no idea if this one will be or not, but he could be a good source. |
of course, we could do that Scott...you're absolutely right...
however....
as far as I'm concerned, the purpose of this thread is for a few of us to have a quick trawl around the record label's homepages, perhaps once every fortnight, and create a (reasonably) up to date list of forthcoming PM releases, for the benefit of our PA members, and the site generally...
if others want to take this further, in an effort to unearth possible gems that we've vaguely heard about through the mysterious ether of the 'intrawebz', then feel free to do so...but I won't be joining in.
I'm sorry, but (contrary to how it presently appears) I'm just too busy to be able to offer this level of commitment...

promotionally it seems some bands go overboard whilst others are non-existent!
