Loads of Harpsichord on Sky's Sky 2, courtesy of Francis Monkman. Some of the tracks are exclusively classical harpsichord.

The RMI he used live (and of course some places in the studio - like the "piano" chords on the down-part (forget what it's called) of close to the edge, plus all over 6 wives), but on siberian kathru it's a real one in the studio-verion, no doubt. I'd also mention Banco del mutuo soccorso and Il revescio della medaglia, plus loads of other ita-prog-bands. |

Wasn't there was harpsichord at the very end of "Child in Time?" Hmm? I think the entire song is worth those precious few seconds. |

As for lute, I'm pretty sure Minimum Vital use it, along with other medieval instruments like theorbe,...
A lot of Italians use harpsichord, Trace, Gentle Giant, Happy the man,...

I love that tune! But the electronic harpsichord sounds a tad too plastic to me... |

A harpsichord sound can also often be heard in Lacrymosa - Joy of the wrecked ship, but I believe it's a sample and not the real instrument.

The wake has some seconds of harpsichord. XIV century Yamaha or Roland, I think.

He also uses one (I don't know if it real or not) on Acquiring The Taste. I believe it is on the soft part of Wreck. |

He also sometimes used the real Harpsichord! (For example: In a Glass House, Title Track, where in several parts he doubles the bassline with the harpsichord). Edited by EinTon - May 17 2007 at 15:45 |

Yeah! I forgot Van der Linden played harpsicord on that album. Got to dig it out.

Isn't it harpsichord on Jack-A-Lynn - a lovely Jethro Tull track on some of the greatest hits?

But you`ll notice they`re all unaccompanied except for the short intro at the beginning of Hamburger Concerto and Britannia off Tabernakel. I read a couple of articles back in the seventies and he said that it was hard to keep in tune which is why he only played brief unaccompanied lute sections while touring with Focus in the seventies.

Emerson plays harpsichord on The Nice's first album, The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack. At least, it says so according its page on this site; I've never heard that album.

hey dick, do you go up to people in public and tell them to stop having their conversation because the topics are already covered on wikipedia, or because you had that same conversation with a friend a month ago and that they shouldve been there to hear it? ...i hope not (maybe you do) For goodness sake, read what I wrote with care, because I do believe you miss the point. In fact it is an invitation to add your insights to a single thread, NOT TO STOP ANY FORM OF DISCUSSION, for the reasons given! What was written up a month ago on PA is still on public record (and indeed many threads date from much earlier), and can be read and can be added to. Let's concentrate the information not dilute it.

Damn, all the Tull has been taken...unless there's some in the single "Strip Cartoon" that was tacked onto Too Old, but I could be remembering wrong.
Still, I can plug Keith Emerson's use of the harpsy-cord on ELP's first studio album.
