the whole CD is pretty much about 2 abused children who find comfort in each other, very moving.
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal.
All this pain is an illusion.

You claim I don't know you, but I know you well
I read in those ash eyes we've been through hell
I've walked with the weakest just to feel strong
You've given your body just to belong

Let's burn together
Let's burn together

This pain will never end
These scars will never mend

I taste your sorrow and you taste my pain
Drawn to each other for every stain
Licking the layers of soot from your skin
Your tears work my crust to let yourself in

Touching you harder
Touching you harder now

As we walk through the ashes
I whisper your name
A taste of pain to cling to
As we walk through the ashes
You whisper my name
Who's the one with the sickest mind...
now?

This pain will never end
Our scars will never mend
Cleansing sweat
We are just using each other
Too depraved to stay alive
But too young to die
And we hurt
Thus we hurt

Scrubbing it harder
Too late to back out now
Scrubbing it even harder
As these two broken barren desolate disordered words collide

As we walk through the ashes
I whisper your name
A taste of pain to cling to
As we walk through the ashes
You whisper my name
Who's the one with the sickest mind...
now?

This pain will never end
These scars will never mend
Damn this dirty bed
Damn this dirty head

Life seemed to him merely like a gallery of how to be.

Theres no way around it, sh*te like lindsay lohan and ashlee simpson is horrible, horrible music that is made simply for commercial success, nothing else. Sure.. people listen to it, but then they hit puberty.

I respect talent in all genres, but i know genuinely BAD music when i hear it.

^Then it has themes are something going through it that you don't like, or it's missing something that the other books have FOR YOU. Maybe someone else hates the other books but loves that one.

See, I don't like Genesis very much...at all, but I love Yes, Krimson, GG, VDGG, Spock's Beard and a couple others. Does that make Genesis bad? Uh, no. That just makes them not to my taste.

What if it's a genre you like, are well-read, love huge amounts of it but can't stand this one book?

its like food.  is there good or bad food?  yeah, theres junk food, but there is nothing inherently wrong with it, as long as you eat in moderation.  would it make sense to say "food x is bad."?  and w/ music, there is no good or bad.  just cos you dont like it doesnt make it bad.

So if I ate food that tasted like dung and gave me indigestion, I couldn't say it was bad food?

Pain of Salvation is an incredible band, and The Perfect Element holds a special place in my heart...Remedy Lane is also an amazing album.  I think the band reached its apex with those two masterpieces.  I like BE, but it doesnt have the soul of other PoS releases and i think that Daniel focused too much on cocept while ignoring his incredible talent to make great music.  But when it gets down to it, I would say Pain of Salvation is my favorite band and i cant wait to see them play sometime in the states.  I can see how some people wouldn't like them, as they are a very aquired taste.  But i like it that way...i dont think people who listen to 50 Cent and Fat Joe deserve to hear Pain of Salvation...
