Could be seen as a macabre pun, but since he's dead, Gordon has caused me to have an ear(th)worm since he died, but unlike unsual, my earworms are usually about songs I loathe. so it's a pleasant one this time.

I've been playing Lizard today after not hearing it for a long time. It's still an album that totally amazes me.

In the 70's. Adrian Belew and some of the others are still alive though. I haven't kept track of KC in a while so not sure who after Adrian sang with them.

Man, I just saw this. A darn shame. I know he wasn't happy with the results of the time he spent in KC, but honestly I think he sang every song on Lizard perfectly, and Cadence And Cascade as well. I should check out his solo stuff that was mentioned, can't believe it's not listed on PA.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

I'm terribly sorry for Gordon Haskell's passing. He was such an interesting persona. First with his 70s King Crimson stint and folkish tunes, and then "coming back" in 2000s with a big hit and mature, reflective albums - he's had quite noticeable following here in Poland. Still remember how his concert in Warsaw circa 2003 was loudly touted in national TV, and soon after that collaboration with Polish singer Katarzyna Skrzynecka got even more attention. So intriguing! Gordon also played live in my hometown (yay!) promoting "One Day Soon", my parents attended and loved every minute of it. My father said that live arrangements were much, much more vivid and engaging than the LP itself; I wonder if someone recorded or witnessed it? Anyways, paps loved the concert and was positively surprised. When it comes to LIZARD, this one is my favorite, most cherished KC album - if I had to pick one - and Gordon's vocals are huge part of that... even if he disliked his stay in the band. What if that lineup went on tour and "opened up" with more democratic approach to songwriting? Would love to know.

yeah 4 vocalists in the 1970s and they are all deceased now. Boz was the first to pass (2006), then Lake (2016) then Wetton (2017) now Haskell (2020)

Thanks for sharing that very nice dgm post !
* RIP * I first remember the man who laughed at the line ending Indoor Games with "hey ho". He's a better known musician than I'd expected. It's been very long since I've listened to music like what's on his solo albums (I'm discovering them !), to the extent it brings a kind of enjoyment of "exotic" order |
