And that is how you sum up everything that the Prog Related category is NOT about less than 30 words.

Well done.

Not wishing to change this utterly fascinating subject, but how is Edgar Winter in any way, shape or form like Alice Cooper and Sabbath?

He has the same relevance as they do to Progressive music, one album or a few songs that might fit into the category, that's all.

Ah, maybe I should also ask for my suggestion of including Mahmoud Awad in PA to be removed into the JFF thread?

Moved to just for fun (although one poster did actually think this was a serious thread).

Let get rid of the Prog Metal team first, dispel them back to the dungeons where they belong.

1 - 'Dream Theater' is not metal they're 'Heavy Prog', at least in the early part of their career
2 - Better to remove the word Progressive from the 'Metal' moniker and just call it what it is, 'Metal'
3 - As I previously stated in other posts, if the genre of 'Metal' goes then so should a number of the other genres
4 - The fact that 'Black Sabbath' is classified as 'Prog Related' should say something, if they are then so are 'Alice Cooper' and 'Edgar Winter' in my opinion. Same difference.
5 - Create a site called 'Metal Archives' and move it all there

After evaluating so many bedroom t**sers w**king out djent garbage on their computers and calling it prog metal, or sludgy hacks who hide their lack of talent under layers of "atmospheric" lo-fi production and throw in a couple of E minor acoustic strums to add "variation" to their noisy trash, or vanilla 'prog metal' acts who blatantly emulate Dream Theater to a tee as if they are still relevant, or these "avant-garde blackgaze-prog-grind-techdeath-asscore" bands that can't figure out what the hell they want to do....nobody hates metal more than ME.
Let's get rid of it...ALL OF IT...and I shall find peace at last.Sleepy

Yes, all Metal should be removed from this site. Metal is evil and it causes teenagers to have sex.
More importantly, it is politically incorrect and should be destroyed.
All prog lovers on this site should remove any Metal albums/CDs before they contaminate your collection.
If you ship them to me, I will see that they are properly dealt with.
Honest, I will.

I was listening to Haken on YouTube last month and was stunned by how many commenters considered them metal!    I guess it's largely in the eye of the beholder. Devil horns out!
More heavy prog, please!

First off, metal is a shoddy, tissue-thin pose.
It is about Satanic/occult as is Furnier or Osbourne.

Secondly, there is no Satan. Only God.

George Gideon Osbourne?. some satanic links there for sure...

And there is no Hell.  There is only France.
