I don't care if this is a stupid thread or not (you can delete if it is necessary), what is your favorite type of bread?

Surprized Rye bread isn't here.

That's pretty good, so is jalapeño cheese bread. Thinking of it makes my mouth water.

Does Bread Pudding count (mmm, with whiskey sauce, pure Quartier Latin style)?

Nothing beats the good old baguette bread "à l'ancienne" (Au levain)

Not the ugly and bad copies made around the world , though I'm sure that here and there, correct baguettes must be made. But even in France , one must look hard to find a good one.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

If bread has to be white, it has to be home made - my Friday ritual used to be: in from work, quick cold beer, then take out the week's frustrations on an uncomplaining lump of dough.

White home made bread makes the best toast, bar none.

Bread Pudding always counts, but you can keep your fancy-pants whiskey sauce, I take mine like a true Englishman, heaped with thick custard!

Whiskey sauce - PAH!

ah! ah! obviously we don't have same bread references!

My vote would go for nut bread, bread with poppy seeds,
cook with olive oil, leaven bread, that kind of things...
