I can tell here that the idea for this poll was not mine, as I was thinking of doing just another personal top list. The voting list itself, though, is actually a list of my favourite Metal albums (except from DT, and presented in chronological order), and at the same time mostly a list of very appreciated/high rated Metal albums from several and very different sub-genres, including Prog Metal.
In my opinion, those albums can be considered as not less than a very little but yet, quite a lot telling document on Metal history.
About LedZepps, however you might want to classify them, I surely consider them to be a part of Metal history, and not to do without, either, so they've just got to be here. Star
I hope you'll enjoy this poll, and I think it will be not so little exiting to see the result of it.

Yes, you can vote for as many albums as you want to
and please tell about your voting.

I'm surely happy for the first vote , S.U.S.A.R.
And I wouldn't mind, if Indukti ended this voting as one of top 5, or even as one of top 3.

A lot of great albums in the poll, I could give my vote to half of them.
I don' know two bands in this list so I skimmed through the albums on youtube to see what their sound is. (Taal and Om). I may give them a proper listen.

Great list! I will give my vote a little bit later. Tongue

Thank you, and I can only recommend you to get aquainted with the French Taal, one of the newer, rather high rated but not so wellknown bands, and on their album here mixing Prog Metal with Avant-Prog - while Om is one of the newer quite wellknown American Stoner Metal bands.
And be sure to see my post in "The Rocking Ladies".

Any 4 of the first five in the list (Budgie being the odd one out).
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

My favourites from the list are:

Led Zeppelin (UK) - II (1969)
Black Sabbath (UK) - Paranoid (1970)
Taal (F) - Skymind (2002)
Indukti (PL) - S.U.S.A.R. (2004)

I'll give each of those a vote.

Right now, Deep Purple in front of BS, 6 to 5 - I won't say it bother me, and it's interesting - maybe because this is on PA.

It's good taal is here for some reason as it makes my vote easy.

If you miss some bands here, it's good possibility to mention them in
Topic: your favourite 15 Metal albums
Edit:
If you don't consider Skymind as Metal, I can tell that not only I but RYM does it, too.

Led Zep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Budgie, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden

Guess I'm an old school British headbanger.

One of Saxon - Wheels Of Steel, Strong Arm Of The Law or Denim & Leather are the one obvious miss from my teenage collection LOL

Strangely enough, I first began to like Metal being quite an old tad, inspired by a friend, Prog Metal afficionado - even I had my beginnings as a teenager with the early Metal, and continued a little bit with Powerslave.
