The all-star project delivered their third instalment, featuring Todd Rundgren, former Queensr˙che vocalist Geoff Tate, Focus’s Jan Akkerman, Ayreon mastermind Arjen Anthony Lucassen, The Flower Kings’ Roine Stolt, Derek Sherinian, Steve Hillage, Joe Lynn Turner and other people.

As always, an impressive lineup. But their albums always sound like a mish-mash of different styles and genres. I find them hard to enjoy.

Unfortunately, the material is pretty bland and characterless. Music by numbers.  As noted though, interesting line-up. It's too bad more couldn't be made of the opportunity.

And the reason behind the bland sound is of course Sherwood's dated production!

^ Exactly why I'm worried about his renewed involvement with Yes. Actually, about Heaven and Earth, which I found rather underwhelming, later I found out that the vocals, in particular, were produced by him... and it's just as the vocals come in that the songs go downward, as far as I'm concerned. I just don't understand why they didn't go with Trevor Horn to produce the album, that should have helped them well enough.
