You don't like Haggard? I think they are great!

Don't really like Nightwish... Some of their albums are good, just that their newest one= sh*t

I haven'T heard complete Haggard albums ... but the songs I heard sucked really bad. Sloppy playing, uninspired songwriting and bad sound.

Which album would you recommend?

Mhmmm... I'm not really a big Haggard album, but I got introduced to them from my friend.

Since he loves all Folk Metal, he really seems to like their newest album (Which he got it in Europe)

Eppur Si Muove or something like that, I've heard it, its pretty good... Its a mixture of FOlk and Symphonic Metal..

What makes Tool original or unique? What they do, I've heard before in many other bands. To me it's nothing new, but that part is my opinion.

i would like you to name one band that plays in the same style as tool. have you seriously heard a vocal style like maynards in your life? personally i hear noone else in their music, i just hear tool.  they are one of the most unique bands on the planet and that is what makes them so popular and great.

Maynard has no range, I've heard it plenty of times. Do you watch American Idol, do you listen to the radio, do you realize what's popular in America? Pick a band. People who have no dynamics are all the same to me.

I never insult people on this forum but you are an idiot.Maynard has no range????His ability to hold and sustain notes are a testament to his vocal ability.Listen to the live version of Push*t on Salival, then get back to me.And I don't watch American Idol cause it's mindless commercial fluff and it sucks, and feel the same way about radio. The fact the you do tells me alot about you.

I never said I watch American Idol, or listen to the radio. You never insult people, except when you do. Sustaining a note has nothing to do with range. There's no dynamics to a 20 second scream. You assume I haven't heard Salival for some reason. I'm bored with Maynard, I was from the start, and I've heard him plenty.

By the way, I avoid things like American Idol and the radio. Tool is on the radio all the time, and this is because they fit in. They fit in on the radio. You don't like commercial fluff, but Tool belongs in this grouping. I don't listen to teeny bopper music, that's for idiots.

Where I am Tool is popular. Everyone who listens to rock knows Tool, and most of them enjoy Tool. You can say what you want. They get major air time on radio stations here, and they have good album sales, this is mainstream. I call that popular.

Definition of popular @ www.m-w.com

1 : of or relating to the general public
2 : suitable to the majority: as a : adapted to or indicative of the understanding and taste of the majority b : suited to the means of the majority
3 : frequently encountered or widely accepted
4 : commonly liked or approved

How Tool applies:

1 : Tool is on the radio, plays large concerts.

2 : Tool is suitable to the majority of people who listen to modern rock, but not modern music altogether.

3 : Tool is indeed a positive band to like, take a look around. Tool is cool. I see Tool T-Shirts and Tool CD's everywhere. (The way I see it)

4 : Same as "1 :", Tool is on the radio, plays large concerts.

Before tonight I had thought the word "Popular" easy to understand, perhaps after taking a look at you, it isn't. People hate Mariah Carey, but Mariah Carey is popular.

Wow, you people are still whining about Tool.

Of course Tool is popular, they're album "Lateralus" is in the top 100! That doesn't mean they're bad (they're quite good, and they got me into prog in the first place), it just means that a decent number of people like them. That's all.

I've got that album too King Of Loss.  It's pretty good...the guitar and drums in it aren't that great.  It's nothing very technical or complex IMO.  The album doesn't seem to flow very well.  Certain points in the songs, the music will basically stop and introduce a new sound.  I do like the use of the orchestra, which I guess is the highlight of the album and the band.
Improvement makes straight roads, but the crooked roads without improvement, are roads of genius.

Silence is the music of the future.
