[QUOTE=rushfan4]Another fabulous performance by Farnsworth for the Tigers last night.  6-5 with 2 outs in the 8th inning and Leyland decides to bring Farnsworthless in.  He proceeded to give up a homerun to make it 6-6.  And sadly with the Tigers lead 8-6 in the 14th, Zumaya proceeded to follow in the footsteps of Jones, Rodney, and Farnsworth and gave up a 3-run homer to Nick Swisher so the Tigers lost yet again because of their sh**ty bullpen.Angry[/QUOTE

Take heart in knowing that your bullpen cannot be any worse than the Cardinals. They keep going back to Isringhausen and he keeps blowing games. It took a walk off homer in the 11th to win. ]

Ah, but the Tigers have 4 "Closers" in Todd Jones, Fernando Rodney, Joel Zumaya, and Kyle Farnsworth and none of them can hold a lead.

Not to mention Ryan Ludwick who spent all of 2007 at the Tigers' AAA team but wasn't good enough to play on our major league roster. ShockedDisapproveConfused

I have had both Izzy and Jones on my fantasy team this year and neither was a pleasurable experience.

At least Brandon Lyon has been good for me all year.

Forget fantasy news, time for some BIG news.
Joba is goin on the DL
I thought, or hoped, his injury was nothing really. If Joba's gone a while well, I dont know how the Yanks will make it through that. Or worse, if he's seriously injured.....

Kennedy!!! PLEASE!!!!

Now there should be no reason not to bring him back. If he does well, fill him in that 5th spot. When Joba comes back drop Ponson. Done.

That sucks, they really made it seem like Joba just got a cramp in the heat.

Yeah, it looks like the Yanks are flat out of ways to not call up Kennedy.  Actually, the way things are going, they'll probably get Seattle to push Washburn through waivers and grab him just to piss ProgBagel off.

Looking at the Dodgers relievers I wonder if Torre wishes that he had never taken the Dodgers job?

Looks like the Yanks are regretting trading Karstens to the Buccos. 2-0 with a near perfect game against the Diamondbacks.

I saw that Pudge left the game injured yesterday.  Sounds like it is just a bruise and that he should be back pretty quickly.  Him missing some games might be about the only way to even up the trade for Farnsworthless.  But even then, probably not.

Dodger releivers have been spectacular for the most part for a team that doesn't score a lot of runs.  The last two games were bad but overall they have done well.

Well with Saito on the DL all they have is Broxton. I got to see Kershaw shut down the Cards today. Manny launched a 2 run HR. The Cardinal faithful love booing that guy. Could it be that they are upset that their GM couldn't pull the trigger and get him?

The Tigers have been shutout 11 times this year and they have lost 19 games when they had the lead or were tied going into the 7th inning.  These two items are exaclty why they are 3 games under .500 and 7 1/2 games out of 1st place in the Central.  Can you imagine the Yankees losing 19 games when they had the lead in the 7th inning or later with Rivera as their closer?  Boston with Papelbon?  Chicago with Jenks?  Minnesota with Nathan?   I would be really surprised if any of these teams have lost more than 5 games when tied or leading in the 7th inning or later.  Very frustrating.  Any how, the Tigers held on to beat the White Sox 8-3 tonight.  I say hang on because with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th the score was 5-3, the Sox had men on 2nd and 3rd base, and Ramirez hit a line drive to left field that Ryan Raburn dove full out  to catch and rob Ramirez of a single and 2 RBIs.  It definitely hasn't been easy.

Zambrano sure didn't look good against the Cards yesterday. 4 HR's and 9 runs total.

I know the Angels have been giving the Yankees fits even back when they sucked and the Yanks were great.
But it still hurts...

Pudge barely missed a start.  The fact is he's only the starting catcher for three of the five Yankee pitchers (Moose and Andy insist on Jose Molina), plus they wanted Molina in the lineup against Jared Weaver for reasons we've already discussed.

Kuo has been remarkably effective as well.  He got the loss today, but that was because of two errors and a double play that should've been turned.

The Cards could have made a statement and possibly turned it around after handing it to the Cubs on Saturday but......it was business as usual on Sunday night. They could have had the Cub faithful thinking thoughts of 1969 all over again with a win last night. Still much time left but the Cards have to get over two teams.

It looks like the Cards and the Brew Crew are going to have an epic battle for the wild card.

I like the Cards chances with Carpenter coming back, Ankiel hopefully returning today, and Pujols continuing to make his case as the greatest hitter of this generation.
