When you're on the web
What's the thing you dread
FILTERS
Helter skelter, they've got you off kilter
Those damn school sponsored filters
DAMN THEM

And when they won't even let you on progarchives
Well, then, there's not excuse, they've got to die
TAKE EM DOWN
We hate those silly things of pain
Wash them all down the drain
FLUSH, WATCH THEM SWIRL

Of course, my school, where I be at now
Doesn't care if I'm on PA, or how
MUCH I WANT TO SEE
Our myspace, which they've blocked from me
Leaving me a life of misery
BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE OUR MYSPACE

School is an institution
And it has filters
And that makes it bad
And it having filters
That block useful sites
Makes me very sad

So lets kill those
Nasty school filters
Until they're all dead
Remember those TVs,
Drop 'em out of hotels
Onto those filters' heads

And if those TVs
Don't quite do the trick
Well, then, let's insult:
"THOSE SCHOOL FILTERS ARE REAL PRICKS"

Long Live the N00bs

Long live the noobs
Don't let the filters win
Teach those schoolteachers
That noobing isn't a sin

Keep the torch held high
Above the heads of the ignorant
Surely those filters
Must have been misprints

Don't let the noobies die
They're never going to flame out
We must be firm
Resolute and stout

After all, we've got 41 pages
Higher than those teachers can count
So before you detract
Just don't count us out

Long live the moody noobs
The moody noobs are dead
Ha ha, just kidding
The detractor said
As we took a club
And hit him in the head
Early, to sleep, and early to rise
Early to see the noobs' lives

Mark 1 has died
Long live Mark 2
Because if they go away
I'll have nothing --- to do

I was really bored so I wrote this, tell me what you think:

wishful, wanting the dream to come again
trying to bring back a memory
quickly fading, colours drain until
all is black and white

where did it all go?
why does it have to leave?
out of touch with time
the empty spaces in my mind
consume all

drown myself in the blues
only to find that the muse
drags me back to the shore

i try to lock it all the way
throw the key down the well
pretend to block that feeling from
my mind
too late i've been found out

maybe the clouds could go away
bring the sun out
if only things were this bright
on the inside

As a poem, I like it, but if you try and suggest it for lyrics for the band, the Whistler will probably quit.

Revise it a few times, and I could see it being really good.Thumbs Up

Maybe your lyrical genius could revise it. I am unable to revise my own stuff. I usually just leave it alone.

I cannot revise it.  I do not have the intimate knowledge of what it means that I hope you do, nor do I have any experience writing that type of poetry.  So I would do a crap job of it.  Better off left alone, really.

Can I play bass too? We can do double leadbass lines, à la Thin Lizzy. That's Prog!

Maybe we could get a third bass and play Spinal Tap style.

The original plan was to have Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond on bass. So that makes three basses!

I played horn once, but I've forgotten how to do it now. I've been thinking about starting to play it again, or start learning bassoon.

You don't seem stupid! A rather obscure instrument, used almost exclusively in classical music. They look like this:
