Well since I do most of the housework, look after grandkids, cook meals but I do not dust or iron and can be a bit lousy with cleaning the bathroom (swamp as it known here). I took "I am a woman" Embarrassed Do I know any women who like prog. Not really but the same goes for the men. Most middle aged men I know are Blues or Country fans. Hence that is why we call the Blues here "middle aged white mans music" because it is them who listen primarily to it today.

As for the women they all seem to be either, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop or Metal with their tastes here. Not much prog though
Matt

I once met a woman who claimed to have taught herself English by studying lyrics by Genesis (Gabriel era, of course). But she was Italian so maybe it doesn’t count? LOL (Her English was excellent btw! Gabriel is obviously a good teacher.)

And I must mention my sister: When she was 13 she was fed up with being a child, so she started to smoke, drink coffee and listen to prog instead of ABBA. She has even written a book about it (I’ve never seen a novel with so many references to VdGG).

I have three penises, so I suppose I'm a woman?
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I'm not sure what to vote for.

What does it mean "to like prog"? I know quite a number of girls who like rock music in general, and are huge fans of Pink Floyd. Or Radiohead. Or Sigur Ros. Does that count?

If not, then...well, let's say, five or six women who I met in my life are really into prog.

My little sister likes the Cardiacs and Ex-Girl.
My current co-worker is fond of Franco Battiato.
Do they count?

I know a couple of girls that are into Prog. One had studied classical piano since she was a child, and I'm proud to say that I got her into Prog many many years ago. How? By putting to her the song Island from Rennaissance.
And that was it! She stuck! Evil Smile Of course he greatest passion is classic music, but she listens and collects records (Yes, the vinyl ones!) and cd's from many Prog bands.
I also introduce Prog to the other girl, and although she liked it for sometime, she never really got deep into it.
If anybody wants please visit: http://www.gfreedomathina.blogspot.com/

This is my Blog mostly about Rock music, but also a few other things as well.

You are most welcome!

Thank you. :)

Well I know a girl (she's like 13) who liked some basic prog without knowing it was prog, and I showed her some bands. Now she's not gone full prog yet, but at least she likes Van der Graaf Generator. She has a lot to learn, though, from her one and only master.

So, that's one person who likes prog and I know her. Everyone else either hasn't heard of prog ever ever or dismisses it (these are known as lesser people, but that's another topic).

I know a couple of girls that have some interesting, eclectic music tastes, well at mutual to our tastes. I've been friends with this girl for a while now, but we've never really discussed music or shared thoughts about music until I saw her iPod one day.  Explosions In The Sky, Jethro Tull, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Miles Davis, Hella, Guided By Voices, The Smashing Pumpkins, Spiritualized and The Mars Volta were all some the bands that showed up and my jaw literally dropped. Shocked I was really surprised and just completely oblivious to the fact that we both shared these same musical interests the whole time. It was just really great to see. Big smile

I've known a few.  I once dated a woman for 6 years, who loved prog in high school (Yes, Moody Blues, Genesis, King Crimson, etc.), but by the time I started dating her had said she'd "grown out of it" and was listening to stuff like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Live, Matchbox 20 and the like.  Dead

TBH though, I'm surprised whenever I meet anyone (gender unimportant) who is into prog, aside from the knuckleheads on this site.  Tongue
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?
