i don't know what to say this is an utter shock. Was it illness? this is a truly sad day it is really a shock how legends keep falling of late and Gary Moore was still so young this is one obituary i never even considered i would be reading this year or the next 20

Gary was probably my favourite guitarist. He put so much emotion into his playing. The rooms will indeed seem empty tonight.

first Knut Olsen, then Svein Mathisen and now Gary Moore (and all were 58 years old)

I went to see him live once, at the Victims Of The Future tour.
 
A great talent for song writing, and a very emotional guitar player.

Played with Colosseum II as mentioned but also turned out for Cozy Powell and Greg Lake. Probably one of the most talented guitarists ever. I don't think anything was beyond him.
 
btw I had the pleasure of meeting his brother Cliff about 10 years ago.Nice bloke.
