	Interesting thread.... Here's my story: An old friend, who owns over 2000 LPs and CDs of which I'm really jealous, told me he is a regular visitor (but not a member) here. I didn't do much with that information, until I noticed that Googling for any prog band name plus the word 'discography' made this site show up as the first hit, in about 90% of cases. So I decided to have a look around, then I joined, got hooked, met new soul mates in music and recently became a collaborator ... Thanks to this site, I have regained my interest in (hard)rock and prog that eroded to almost nothing during the nineties. 	I changed jobs, and found myself in an office job (with three labs adjunct) instead of on the field job, and therefore almost unrestricted web access. The first coffee break, I googled Harmonium and Maneige and found this place! The place was almost brand new (in its actual form), so I started one line reviews to give the place a little credibility! 	I first came across this site whilst searching for 'progressive rock'. I was about 16 at the time and we'd just gotten a home PC. The first time I went on the internet, this must have been one of the first sites I came across. I have actually been using the site since then- January 2004- and starting writing reviews around July 2004 (I'd just finished my GCSE exams then). I'm something of a veteran of the site, although I didn't join the forum until 2005.

	I found PA quite by chance - it was a hot summer Sunday, and on the previous day I had had quite an unpleasant falling out with some people I used to frequent in Rome. I was home alone, surfing the web and looking at some music sites, when I clicked on the Links section of one of those prog websites (I think it was either ProgressiveEars or Sea of Tranquillity, though now of course I don't remember). As soon as I opened PA's homepage and then the forums, I really liked what I saw... I registered immediately, introduced myself, and started posting... At first I felt somewhat out of my depth, and it took me almost a year to really get into the thick of things. The turning point for me was when, in May 2006, I got broadband connection at home and became a SC (I was already a Prog Reviewer at the time) for the Symphonic Team. Little did I know that it was going to change my life.... The rest is history.

	Purely by chance.I had rediscovered my love for prog @ 2003 and wanted to re-aquaint myself with it but only one of my friends is into prog and I don't see him all that often. I Googled 'Prog'.Up came PAs and I joined right away as one of the active topics was 'In which order should I buy VdGG albums' and I thought that I had to add my two-penneth's worth. Snow Dog was the first person to reply to my post.He was welcoming and humerous and found quite quickly that most of the members on PAs were of a similar attitude... Curses! 	It was around June 2004, I think, when I first stumbled on this site. I had just discovered Yes, if memory serves me well, and I was searching for new albums to listen to. It took me a while to notice the forum and register myself, but this is still the only forum where I remain active.

	nothing like a bit of PA nostalgia... I might as well chime in with my "PA history"....umm, I've actually been around here for quite a while, the first time I ever came across this site was sometime in mid-late 2003, the same way most everyone did: google. Actually, I didn't know much about progressive rock in those days outside of Yes and Pink Floyd (two of my favorite bands at the time). I believe King Crimson are responsible for my stumbling in: a friend of mine, also a Pink Floyd fan, was an even bigger KC fan and always went on about 21st Century Schizoid Man. So if I recall correctly, a google search for ItCotCK eventually led me here. No forum in those days, very few reviews too but I can recall many short descriptions posted by a chap named Hugues (as he said)...I can recall that he didn't like Styx very much (yes, I loved them and found it strange that they were here...plenty of 1 and 2 star reviews for Kilroy to go 'round). At any rate, I frequented the site for a while, discovered the forum probably in 2004 sometime. I didn't post for some time but I liked stopping on occasional, it was much smaller then but the member's were very friendly and always clever....joined the forum originally in '05, lots of interesting people...there was wallace (blubberin' ol scotsman) and of course Reed (before he became a big shot admin); then the troublemakers (anyone remember karnie?....those Rush v. ELP threads were oh sooo much fun). Anyway, I disappeared for a while and now I'm back and enjoying this great place more than ever. Cheers

	I did a search for Progressive Radio (looking for a station that was not online...which I've still yet to find) and thanks to that prog radio link at the top of the page this site appeared. At first I wasn't really fully into prog so I just browsed. As I got deeper in to it, I began to use as a resource to look up different bands and what albums to explore and to download a few songs (became more than a few though in the end). This was around Dec. 04. Took from then to March for me to find the forums. Stumbled across a 'funniest song title' thread or something like that (which was the first one I looked at) and found out some pretty interesting things (for one thing Forever Enistein, which wasn't on the site at the time). Shortly after that, I joined the forums pretty much just to try something new (I've never signed up for a forum before hand). I think the first thread I posted in was about your top ten GG songs. And, as they say, the rest is history.... Been hooked ever since. This is still the best prog site around (even with Queen, The Who, The Beatles, ELO, etc ).

	I was renewing my interest in prog a few years ago, and I started to actively look for newer artists. I think it was a search for information on Porcupine Tree that led me here.
