All Syd Barret recording will be re-mastsred/re-released in a blaze of publicity. A DVD will be released featuring classic clips and the musings and reminiscing of the other 4 members.

Better than a kick in the nuts of course, but I bet Floyd would stop short of actually meeting up and doing something really big like a tour, or even a one off show. A Syd Barret archive package could be put together without Waters and Gilmour having to face each other. The package could come out as a limited edition for the first 10,000,000 copies only. It will feature a flashing diamond on the cover, powered by a watch battery. In true Floyd style..

'Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash!'

Perhaps they could give a large chunk of the royalties to Barrets family...

I could care less-I'd rather have no Floyd reunion, it would be overly commercial.

It's very doubtful-even in the wake of Syd's death, Roger Waters is one of the world's most stubborn men, and I think he would rather swallow hemlock than have to play on a more permanent basis with David Gilmour again. I know the analogy may be too strong or exaggerated, but that's the impression I get...

By the way, after a person becomes a senior member, are there any levels you can reach after that?

Yeah. It just wouldn't be very good I think. A reunion concert could be nice but I doubt they would make anything outstanding in studio.

You can become a prog raviewer or a special collab but you get awarded those.

No, but if they did I would loose somre respect for them because it seems too much like a "take the opportunity to exploid it"...although, on the other hand Pink Floyd woudnt need of Syds death to reunite and make money or whatever out of it...

Not a cats chance in hell. Gilmour, was recently interveiwed on Scottidh telly, and he said , he would never go on tour with the Floyd again.
 
Anyway, isn't Barrett massively overrated, just like the appallingly bad Sargeant Pepper by the Beatles.

Notwithstanding the fool's hope, how would you like the idea of Floyds recording psychodelic album again (nothing in the vein of symphonic pop of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell)?

I hope to God that Floyd will not do anything together now, after Syd's death. Why should they tarnish their reputation? I'm afraid that anything they do know will ring hollow. They really are not the same anymore. Gilmour's voice has changed, Waters is even worse than it was, and has lost most of its edge, and I can't really say much about Wright and Mason, as i havn't heard them since Live 8.

Pink Floyd should leave us with their emotional and spectacular Live 8 performance, and their years beginning with Syd, and leading up to (hopefully) their final studio album The Division Bell. Pink Floyd is my favorite band, and I would have given my right arm to see them in their prime, but now, I just don't know. I don't want them to turn into another The Who.

Syd had been out of their lives for so long....WYWH was the most fitting of tributes.
 
Now, a concert featuring some of Syd's Floyd and solo songs done by various artists (a la the Dylan 50th birthday concert) might be a fun and fitting send off.  Would love to hear Julian Cope cover "Chapter 24".
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

GW:   Whatever.  It was very emotional for a lot of us to see you back together (meaning, I suppose, Wright, Mason, Gilmour and Waters playing again).
Waters: Oh; it was terrific.  I really loved it.  I hope we do it again.  It was more than good.  If some other opportunity arose, I could even imagine us doing Dark Side Of The Moon again-you know, if there was a special occasion.  It would be good to hear it again.  Live 8 was so great.
GW: What would that occasion have to be?
Waters: A good reason.  I don't know.  Something with a political or charitable connection.  The day they announced the Pink Floyd reunion to play Live 8, I went out to dinner with a friend and an offer arrived-literally BANG on the table-for the 4 of us, the Pink Floyd, to tour again.  An offer of $250 million.  Guaranteed.
 
David Gilmour has other plans.
GW: Roger Waters has been pretty vocal in the press about how positive the (Live8) experience was for him.  He seems to be saying that he'd like to do more-to reconvene Pink Floyd on a more regualr basis.  What are your feelings toward that?
Gilmour: I have great pride and affection for most of my Pink Floyd career.  I had a thoroughly good time.  Musically and artistically, it was very satisfying.  The good times far outweigh the moments that were not so great for me.  But I have moved on.  I have a different working partnership right now. I'm playing with another group of musicians and writing with my wife.  I'm finding that this is what I want to be doing.  I'm satisfied with this.  I don't have much nostalgia for that old thing.  It's in the past for me.  Done it.  I don't have any desire to go back there.  And anyway, doing a tour without making a record would just be doing it for the money.  I'm not interested in going there.  And thinking about making a new record with all of us, including Roger-I just don't think it would work.  Roger and I had too long being horrid little despots.  I just don't think it would make me a happier human being.  Sorry.  I'll pass on it.
