11 to 1 now. National league is just not as good as the American...oops 12 to 1. 28 minute half inning. They are good against the Cubs and the Diamond backs who both have no offense, now they face real competition and they crumble. Oh 13 to 1 bases loaded. (guy before me already spoiled the progress of the game, but if you are on the internet I assume you have checked the score.)

Better game so far tonight. But it is the 5th inning again and Boston are kicking up their heels.
That is until Herges slew-footed them.

Oh yeah, in case you weren't watching the game, there was a stolen base today, so now every one in the U.S. can get a free taco at Taco Bell between 2 PM and 5 PM on October 30th. Somebody please add the "eat your tacos" quote from Opeth here.

I guess I am just conversing with myself tonight. The Rockies have one last at-bat to try and take Game 2 and gain Home-Ice advantage.

I'm not really surprised that the Rockies have lost momentum, it's really unfortunate for them that they had all of that time off. I'm not wanting to see the Red Sox win this time.

Me neither. The same thing happened to the Tigers last year. Unfortunately, in the Tigers case, it was so cold here in Michigan they moved across the street to practice indoors at Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions play, and they caught loser-itis from the Lions.

But I think even if they still had momentum, the Rockies would still be having a difficult time against Boston. The Red Sox are much better than any National League team, and by far the most balanced team in the majors. The Diamondbacks and the Rockies were the only team with 90 wins (the Rockies because of the one game playoff). I'm still amazed the D'Backs survived a twenty run differential on the year....

I agree with that as well. As hot as Colorado was to end the season and in the playoffs this still is a David versus Goliath match-up.

I'm sure most people aren't surprised by how well the Sox are doing, they looked like one of, if not the best team on paper at the beginning of the year, and they surely played like that.

Given the current baseball system and the size of their payrolls, the Red Sox or Yankees should win the World Series every year. It is always nice to see another team win it.
Ah well, no miracle comebacks in the 9th. Papelbon shut them down.

Yea, too bad there will probably never be a salary cap in baseball.... It's way past the point of no return. And it makes me angry every time I remember that Pat Gillick is paying Adam Eaton $8 million a year!

I will truly be surprised if the system ever gets fixed. With the TV networks paying the bills they are thrilled to have teams from the biggest cities be the best teams every year.
Nice chatting with you. Time to call it a night.

Maybe they will turn the humidor off?
There are defensive advantages the Rockies will have in Coors. One Ortiz at 1b is a huge liability as is ManRam in left in that big outfield. However the Rockies aren't hitting and haven't hit since the Phily series. Sometimes that doesn't turn around quickly. Pitching is always a big deal in Colorado as well and their pitchers need to set the tone. I feel for the Rockies because they are so young but they have to win game 3 to have a chance though.
Red Sox=Yankees
They finally gave up and said if you can't beat them join them (as in how they do business)

MLB needs to stop with all the days off during the playoffs, it's getting ridiculous. Plus I have nothing to watch tonight when I'm bored....

Tonight's a travel night, so this one is justified.
But I agree, EIGHT F*CKING DAYS? That's nothing short of idiotic.

The days off that make absolutely no sense to me are the ones between games 4 and 5. Come on, that's just unnecessary!
Edit: Apparently, that isn't happen during the World Series, but I'm pretty sure it happened during the ALCS (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

It's bad for small-market teams if the Rockies win it this year.
If the Red sox-yankees-mets win the next few years MLB will realise it needs a salary cap.
