No no, how I wish it was true, but (just like most of the US) the people of this thread have at best a casual respect for the Giants for what they've done.
They are a "major local" team IMO. Big time team, but unlike the Cowpies, Steelers or Packers are pretty much limited to the NYC metro area. This used to annoy me but I kinda like it now. Cool

And eh....Remember I had to live with Eli, so I kind of chuckle at every new "real deal". I just cant get too excited either direction, over a QB for a few years. Esp since so many have busted.
But hey, if he plays, and improves, like he did that first game its bad news for the NFC East

Anyway, I really am not too stoked for this season. Dont need to tell me how brutal the Giants sched isCry and that o line and secondary are jokes. I stick by 7-9 wins, but Eli can't make the magic happen again and the team needs to rebuild.

Legal Loophole In Art Modell's Will Eliminates Cleveland Browns Forever

BALTIMORE—Exploiting a legal technicality that allowed him to regain full ownership of the Cleveland Browns organization in death, former team owner Art Modell specified his wish to permanently dismantle the 66-year-old franchise in his last will and testament, family sources reported Tuesday. “It is my dying wish that the Cleveland Browns football team and associated assets be liquidated and distributed amongst the benefactors listed herein,” read part of the document, in which Modell also stripped the franchise of its right to the team’s colors, which the Baltimore Ravens will adopt for their second alternate uniforms beginning next season. “Furthermore, I hereby set aside funds in the amount of $50 million for the creation of a nonprofit foundation dedicated to ensuring that no professional football team moves to or is ever established in the city of Cleveland, from now until the end of time.” At press time, sources confirmed Modell had bequeathed the Browns’ 1964 NFL championship to LeBron James and ordered the immediate demolition of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I was going to say before I clicked on the link, that has to be an article from The Onion.

And the Cleveland Browns are never allowed to go away. Somebody has to replace us as the bottom rung in the AFC North after all.

Joining late.......

All know I am a Saints fan........without a real headcoach, I don't see them going better than 10-6, possible wild card...I can't justify 11-5. Already 0-1.......
Unless.....the Falcons fall apart or choke in the end as the seem to always do.

Then the Saints have a chance to win their division.

I really didn't see the Saints being very off this year.
Brees is all the coach you need!

Defense could be an issue though. Been masking problems with balls to the wall blitz...maybe it finally falls apart.

The Bungles usually give you a break from that honor every few years.

That is very true. Sometime within the next 5 years, you know it's guaranteed to happen at least once.

It still surprises me that a lot of people think the Saints will have a winning record this year. I mean, I guess if you're being led by Drew Brees, you have a shot. He definitely has a chance to be the glue that holds the team together. Unfortunately I just think that they've had too many off-field distractions. I don't see how that won't affect their season.

I also think they have a few trap games early on in their schedule. I could see them going 2-3 or 1-4 by the time they get to their bye week.

WTF???   I know the NY region didn't get the Redskins-Saints game.  If you saw it you'd know the Skins beet the crap
out of the Saints, in THEIR Dome....  Atlanta is back, Tampa seems feisty.   The Saints could have a free fall and miss the playoffs, which I think they will miss the playoffs.

Brees & the team looked lost against the Skins.  This week will be very telling if the Saints don't come out and win big.

Saints defensively are lost.....pretty much no answer for any decent running/throwing QB.......Looks like another loss and a 0-2 start.

Cannot win if Brees is not on the field. Head coaches do mean something during game time

Terrible officiating, but the Eagles pulled out a win.

I give the Eagles credit where credit is due, especially Celek, who had a monster game. But Torry Smith running down the field with a defender having two fistfuls of jersey the whole way and that not getting called really pissed me off.

Rough game too, talk about a war of attrition.

Yeah, some crazy bad calls all around it seems. Sadly couldn't see the battle of the birds it was one I would have liked to see.

And yay Gmen!! Poor offensive play in the beginning leads to 41 pts and 510 passing yards for eli. Woo comeback!! I was expecting a shootout in that game but not that much of one!

I can't say the officiating was good, but I also can't say that I found it to be uneven.

Wow, I'm not sure what to say about that Giants game.
The defense is utterly atrocious, and frighteningly the pass rush was very lackluster...but Andre Brown was actually running pretty well and Eli: 510 yards!

Those 3 picks were terrible, and he made some very WTF decisions. Terrible first half, but he came out bombing it still. Throwing it deep, into coverage, tossing it to Bennett despite all his drop, he calmly steps around the pocket and evades any pressure. The man is pure ice.

Sad to see the Eagles pulled out a win, but looks like the Cowboys are at least going down to the Seahawks.

^ I don't know that a QB has looked that bad in back-to-back wins since the days of Trent Dilfer.  Happy they beat Baltimore but it's time for Vick and the Birdies to start getting the losses they deserve.  Also, Sanchez is still Sanchez, thankfully.
