I only edit my posts for typos and such. That may have been my honest opinion then, but if I changed it to fit my opinion now, then I AM HELPING 1984 COME TRUE WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AT WAR WITH EURASIA!

The point is that you at one point thought DT were "phenomenal writers." I'm not asking you to edit it, I'm just damning your soul to hell for all eternity for writing it in the first place. I mean, God fcukin damn you.

Also, Faust's debut is ridiculously good. Agreed with Riley and taken further, Faust is the best non CAN Kraut CD.

I'm not sure about that, Echo might beat it. They're close.

What's the most incredibly ridiculous about that album is that they made it in like three days. They were on a contract where for like a year they'd buy a bunch of expensive equipment and smoke dope all day and night and every time they label asked if they were making progress they'd make some random-ass demo and send it off and the label would back off again and they'd go back to smoking dope and doing nothing. And one day the label was like "OK, we need the album in two days" and so they put that album together.

What's even more incredibly ridiculous is that they got label funding for it at all.

It was an experiment by the record label (if you can believe that!) where they'd take a couple of German musicians and isolate them in a studio with absolutely state-of-the-art equipment and let them run wild and see what kind of awesome sounds would result. It was a success in that awesome sounds did indeed result, but a commercial failure.

Holy sweet Christ. Even I, the DT fanboy (though they slip a little further away each day now it seems) think they have always been crap writers (please God tell me there is no post I've made calling them good lyricists). And for the love of God, Octavarium? Again, love the song, but the whole middle section of lyrics is nothing but name-dropping of films, other bands, and song titles. Jesus, Shakes one year ago probably would have considered Torman Maxt poetry (YOU ARE WORTHY! YOU ARE WORTHY!) If this is the change you go through in a year by the time you're 20 you'll be a centaur or some s**t.

I think it's very clear I didn't mean lyrics. Calm down. Also, read my post above.

I don't even think I did actually think that. I wrote my one star Awake review before I posted that, if I'm not mistaken, so, like, yeah. Although, being a centaur does sound fantastic. Not to mention yiff. cue laplace

It was a shocker. Retrospektïw I and II were f**king brilliant, and this isn't Merci, so I was very taken aback.
