I have seen them all and enjoyd them all, I liked the twists and the braveity of Disney studio to make theis movies which are in manny ways untraditional for Disney in humour (in the wein of Emperors New Groove), quicker jokes, deeper plot, darker, not so handsome, wierd lead roles
espessially Milo in Atlantis (voiced by Michael J Fox with exelency), is a nerd, geek, and an expert in gibrish, gets the princess (or godess
![]() ![]() Treasure Island was also a plesant suprise, I was abit sceptical but that movie was quite good I think, but not as good as Atlantis.
and Lilo and Stich is such a great movie with lots of lots of suprisess and turns, heatbraking moments
but Atlantis is my favourite ![]() Edited by aginor - September 19 2010 at 04:51 |

I'm also a Disney junkie. The sci-fi films were not exactly my cup of tea, but from the above list I've enjoyed Treasure Planet the most.
Oddly enough, now that you mentioned The Emperor's New Groove, that is one of my all time favourites despite the childish and somewhat silly humor. ![]() |

Up!?!
Isn't is science fiction to tie a massive amount of balloons to a house and float it so South America only to find strange creatures and dogs fitted with collars that translate their speech into English? |

Some of the imagery from Treasure Planet actually inspired the look of one of a world in one of my books. Guess that counts.

I honestly believe Disney Studios are the worst thing that could happen to movie industry.
For God's sake, they sell dramatic classics with a happy ending (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
If it wasn't enough, they change history (Anastaxcia).
I believe that teaching fake history to kids and distorting the classics is worst than avoiding them. Can't stand Disney movies after Fantasia.

Anastasia was by 20th Century Fox. And no film based on history accurately depicts it. It's fantasy. It's entertainment. Your Notre Dame gripe is especially hilarious, since the 1939 classic everyone loves also featured a butchered, happier ending. To act as if Disney is a special case makes me think you must be intentionally trolling this thread. I mean, the topic isn't even about the studio, it's about three specific films made by the studio. Somehow, when I saw your name in here, before even reading your post, I knew you going to say something outlandish.

I'm not a good enough writer to have anything published. I just do it for fun. And I write in any genre I find interesting. And Cameron rips off everybody, so your suspicions are most likely correct. I did see Atlantis a couple of times. Not a bad film.

Honestly believed Anastasia was Disney movie, but no matter, I have the worst opinion of Disney studios.
And no I'm not trolling a thread, I'm giving an honest opinion ofwhat Disney is, or...Do you only want positive opinions?
When a thread about ELP or Dream Theater and even Yes or Genesis is open, some members say one of this bands is crap, mediocre, or whatever, ando nobody says a word..Because this is a free opinion forum.
If that changes, this will cease to be an opinion forum and turn into a fan club.
Maybe because I always say what I believe without hiding my opinions
People has gioven worst opinions about Disney here, and you said nothing, seems you don't like my posts and honestly I don't give a damn about it, I will always give my honest opinion..
If you want hypocrisy, then don't read my posts.

I know it's your opinion, but I can't believe someone would say that of the Studios that owns Pixar (a studio that has given as the greatest masterpieces of animation of this era), plus classics like Fantasia, Pinnochio, Beauty and The Beast, etc, etc. By the way, I think all the movies listed above suck. Disney in the 00's (sans Pixar) does kind of suck. Edited by The T - September 22 2010 at 11:37 |

I vote Lilo and Stitch. What an original, charming film.
I share your horror at the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but probably just because it's one of my favorite novels. However, Disney has made enough timeless classics (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, not to mention all the Pixar stuff) that I am willing to overlook their ocassional missteps. |

I honestly can't understand people, Christian Vander is accused of having sympathy for Hitler without any evidence, and some say they can't listen him any more, but on the other hand a well known fascist as Walt Disney who had no problems accusing David Hilberman (And I believe 9 more ex colleagues) with the House Un-American Activities Committee, is a hero.
Even when I'm clearly anti-Communist, I can't accept witch hunts and much less respect those who to protect their a$$e$ sell their friends and colleagues. Disney is part of the monopoly of the RIAA, a company that had no troubles suing Sony in the famous Betamax Case, and later joined with Sony to protect their interests in the record industry Now, I love FANTASIA and consider it a masterpiece as some of his early works, but genius doesn't justify other abuses. And about the movies, I have no respect for those who distort history and classics. This are my argumentsIván Edited by Ivan_Melgar_M - September 22 2010 at 16:01 |

Disney being the massive prick that he was has nothing to do with whether or not I can enjoy his studio's films. Hell, my favorite Disney works came out a very long time after the man was already deceased. Am I suppose to denounce and reject the studio's films simply because the founder was a nutcase? I like the damn films, and I'm not ashamed of it. Who cares about Walt Disney? I certainly don't.

When you try to make mockey of an opinion, you should at least quote the whole post:
The Betamax case and most of the distorsion of history and/or authors comes after Walt Disney died, as a fact I'm not the only one who noticed this, in an open letter to the Disney Studios about "Hidalgo", the author quotes Disney's Executive Director of International Publicity, who says:
No one here cares about the historical aspects, probably not in Disney studios but many others do:
In Google the accusations are many and about many movies and stories modified without the authorization of the author or right holders.
So please, if you are going to try to contradict me, quote the whole post.

I wasn't contradicting anything else you said. I just didn't care. All I did was focus on one point you made about Disney the man, and addressed it. The rest of your post makes no difference to me. My enjoyment of certain Disney films still stands.
