I can't vote for just one but some of my favorites would be In Through the Out Door, Physical Graaffitti, Hemispheres and Permanent Waves.

I would pick Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures over the Zep records but I'm also a huge fan of both. I'm surprised I didn't wear out my vinyl copy of Led Zeppelin II or Ac/Dc's If You Want Blood..." record.

I think that's a very good point.... in truth, many of us would like to achieve both, but pressures of time constraint along with the sheer volume of music out there, mean that compromises have to be made.

In short, I'm looking forward to retirement (if I will ever be able to afford to do so), however I think Parkinson's Law will take effect, which states that the amount of music will expand to fill the increased time available! LOL

2112, Farewell, Hemispheres (not necessarily in that order) 
then the first 5 Zep  albums (not necessarily in that order either), 
then MP and PW

I agree with first 3 and last 3 which might be interesting and tells you something about which band was progressing and which one was standing still (perhaps). The middle 3 albums are trickier. Rush were in their heaviest and proggiest phase while Led Zep were just at their best. I would just cop out and call it a tie on those albums. As for the poll I voted Moving Pictures as it's one of my top five favourite albums of all time.

^ I own all but one (Moving Pictures) of my primary choices, but only own one (Hemispheres) of my secondary choices, which I just bought from Oxfam a couple of days ago.

Hemispheres is my fave from all of these. My fave from LZ is Physical Graffiti. I'm happy to offer differential scanning calorimetry services for your slurries!

I've never seen D'yer Ma'ker and The Crunge as 'filler' - but more as interesting experiments in exploring other genres (as they had by exploring & including elements of folk on III) - in this case reggae and funk, which enhance the album IMO in giving it a bit more variety than the previous 4 albums.

HotH is the LZ album I end to play the most (followed by IV).

I considered going with Houses of the Holy. I appreciate eclecticism and like having "D'yer Maker" and "The Crunge". I never considered it filler either, but maybe it was intentionally added to fill up the album for lack of material they really wanted. I don't know the story of the making of the album. Led Zep IV is a great album, and I adore 4 Sticks, particularly for the synths, but I don't like "Rock and Roll". I get more enjoyment out of the B side than the A side. It does seem like more of straightforward rock album than Houses of the Holy. And frankly, I have heard "Stairway to Heaven" too many times.

Nice. I voted for PG, and Hemispheres is my favourite Rush album. Hemispheres, Physical Graffiti and In Through the Out Door have all been my favourite album at one time, or I should say at different times.

Out Door is a great record, I don't care what anyone says.   I describe it as a "secret favorite" among some fans.

Presence my personal fave but that's coming from a lifelong Zephead, so...

Yeah, I've always considered Houses of the Holy their best, and IV isn't even the next on my ranking list (that would probably be PG and ITtOD). It's certainly one of my favorite albums ever.
