My Bloody Valentine's new album has just been released completely out of the blue:

Why do you say out of the blue?  It was known it was coming.

Bought it and listened to it. A masterpiece in its own right.

Brilliant work. Obviously nowhere near Loveless (my favourite album of all time) but this is going to get A LOT of spins I can tell.

I like it lots. I was scared of disappointment too, but I love it. Took a couple listens for me to truly grasp, but it's a goodie.

As far as individual songs go, I think it equals Loveless, and perhaps betters it in some regards; however, Loveless had a brilliant way of surprising you with one song after another, which this album doesn't have. It's certainly better than Isn't Anything, in my opinion.

First listen and it's quite good! Maybe not close to Loveless, but few albums manage to be as good.

Amen to that. Beer It's about time Kevin. Smile I think it might have been like the most anticipated album in past 20 years, well that and Wintersun. Loved Loveless of course, but I'm still a bit iffy over this one. The first few tracks were good, but the second half lacked a bit of direction in my opinion. Certainly I think they could have made a much more consistent and stronger effort, especially considering it's been in the works for like the past couple of years. But I feel this is going to be a grower for me for sure.
