The Gospel of St. Matthew 16:17-19 says, "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Great misunderstanding there! As maani once said:

The 'rock' is ofcourse not Peter(though Jesus does have a nice wordplay there, he's not without humour) but the rock of faith all Christians should have. There is a 'foundation', that is a parable somewhere else, that you have to have to build up, else 'a storm will come and destroy your house'. It is the foundation of faith, hope and love, and that is the rock Jesus will build His Church on.

Lastly: "NONE will come to the Father except through ME"

edit: a whole other discussion spawned off this tread, if it's not allowed to live in here, split it off into another thread. That's your job as moderators, isn't it.
