By "Mainstream pop" are we talking the most mainsteam of the mainstream, where the "artist" doesn't even write their own music and is pretty much backed by a bunch of goons with money? I would assume so.

Rap although I do, occasionally, enjoy some old school hip-hop. I'm also known to freestyle under the influence of narcotics.

Post-grunge, pop-punk, and smooth jazz are the unholy trio. At least the worst mainstream dance-pop can induce a sense of despair that is sometimes desirable; for example, Just Dance by Lady GaGa. However, most of what is called "classic rock" is pretty awful.

Although I'm a bit of a fan of dance-pop (particularly 80s New Wave and pop with a few 90s/00s songs), I pretty much agree.

It scares that that you've actually heard Lady Gaga.

I would vote, but honestly I can't tell the difference between rap and hip-hop.
Other than that, I really despise smooth jazz, shopping mall muzak, lots of new age, and that meditation/relaxation CDs, especially if they contain flutes and whales.
Apart from that, modern r'n'b (not blues!)/soul/dance/pop stuff is pretty atrocious.
Europop/dance/techno/italo-disco/Balkan/Greek/Mediterannean pop.
Watered-down Latino music from Makarena, Shakira to Ricky Martin.

Had some doubts between hip hop and rap. Both are awful. And cheap pop (just aiming on sales which I can hear immediately) is pretty repellent too.

None of them. My least favourite genre of music is probably something f**king stupid and gimmicky like Deathcore or Crabcore. Or Crunkcore. Or any other dumb little core genre out there. Grindcore and Breakcore don't count

Yep, I agree, although some of the song titles are quite funny.
