Be careful, this is not about your taste, but about which one you think is above the other in terms of interpretation, creativity, level, emotion and any other aspect you want to include in your criteria. I've been listening to both songs a lot these last few days to try to answer this but I can't come up with a solid response!

These questions are invariably about taste. Numbers can be objective. The quality of music is not. For me it's Banks. That solo in during the Apocalypse in 9/8 section is probably my favorite keyboard solo of all time.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

As much as I worship Wakeman and Yes, I voted for Banks on this one.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Right, so remove our taste buds and tell you which meal we preferred and the reason(s)?

Banks, for the 9/8 section alone; solo and mellotron parts.

Would have thought Rick Wakeman would have won easily here.

Banks on this one for his organ play but it's not always the case.
In general I think both most excelled most on piano. For instance the piano part in Return of Giant Hogweed against that in South Side of The Sky would be cripplingly difficult to make a choice between!

I cannnot decide. Both are fantastic at creating sound atmospheres, making the two songs marvelous.

Given that our subjective taste is deemed spurious to the matter at hand, maybe the most appropriate response to date. This is a bit like a musical debate for the deaf.

Hey, calm down. Of course I mean to put our favouritisms aside to vote impartially. Everyone has understood the slogan, I don't understand the need to belittle the post. |

its tie for me and Banks is m fav keyboard player--but I think Banks best solo is Cinema show--so I voted Rick--besides his solos he adds a lot of little keyboard parts that are very good.

Let's see, a church organ, organ and synthesizer vs just an organ. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
