I'm sorry to report that Andy Gill, the energetic and talented guitarist for Gang of Four, has died.  


I thought that his guitar style presaged the King Crimson "Discipline" era sound, please listen to this song: 


A good guy, we exchanged emails a few times in the past about his gear!

This is not the appropriate place to post this. It should be in the RIP thread in the general music discussion section. Not just because it's not prog but because that's where all RIP announcements go.

Thanks.  Listen to the clip, I'd posit that Gill was influential on Fripp & Belew.  Fripp's chosen bassist for his own band, League of Gentlemen, was the remarkable Sara Lee, who was a bandmate of Andy Gill's in Gang of Four.  
Therefore, he must have studied their music.
