STILL ONLY PRE SEASON
That being said....Vick does appear to be explosive still. His passing numbers have been alright but we shall see once the season truly starts.
Also, last night we were chilling in the hot tub and we got into a debate with some guys there about what numbers AP will put up with Favre there. They felt his numbers would go down...but I think AP will be even beastlier with a decent passing game now... Scary thought

Well, the Bucs didn't hit the offensive numbers they wanted during pre-season and fired the Offensive Coordinator !

New GM, new coach, new QB, and numerous new players acquired in the off season. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but so far this has the makings for (yet) another long season for the Chiefs. Worst offensive line I've ever seen.

Really sad actually, the Chiefs used to have such a beastly O-line with Willie Roaf, Shields, and Brian Waters.

I'm still not convinced that Favre can even put a better passing game in place than Jackson would have--and yes, I am aware of how awful Jackson is. Favre led the league in picks last year and he's only gonna get worse.

Well I kinda like Jackson. QB's like him usually need some time to develop, and hasn't had much of a chance....especially with their receiving corps not being the best

Detroit Lions 16 - 0 this year!? Obviously it'll take a year or two, but the Lions have added some good players this year. Well last year they got Kevin Smith who I am a fan of. Now add Stafford, some pretty good receivers,a good blocking FB in Terrelle Smith not to mention LB Julian Peterson and Larry Foote. Oh and Phillip Buchanon those are some big names on Defense. Still got no one on the D-line and the O-line could probably use work. Oh and the NFC north might be getting tough again....guess we shall see

I'm confident the Lions will improve over last year.

The Lions went 4 and 0 in the preseason last year, and ended up 0 and 16 in the regular season.
The Lions went 3 and 1 in the preseason this year. I believe that they decided to save 1 win for the regular season.

Bold statement!!! Although if any team could manage negative wins..... Nah, not only do they HAVE to be better but they do have some good people on the team now. Hope it gels and they get something going.

good to see the season start off the right way, with a Steelers win
but it's still disgraceful for a championship team to have no idea what to do offensively with 1 yard remaining
the only time the offense looks good is when they go hurry up and take the playbook out of Bruce Arians' hands

Been a problem with the G-men. I remember even back in Eli's rookie year he was good out of the no huddle hurry, but Coughlin could be VERY conservative, (or downright stupid sometimes) Still happens.....

What's up with Seymour? Is he just refusing to play for Oakland?

Probably. I'm pretty surprised actually. Doesn't seem like the Patriot mentality that Bill so kindly beat into them with chains and bricks. I can understand though....imagine being a lifelong Patriot (or whatever team) and one of the anchors on that defense, still good and healthy just to be traded to the Raiders for some picks... But hey, the NFL is rough...man up, (and get your $) and just show up dude

OK, fellas, it's time for the real stuff today. I know the first game has already been played, but kickoff Sunday is when it really starts for me.
The Chiefs travel to Baltimore to open against the Ravens and I don't have a good feeling. Cassell is a game time decision, but he gives us the best chance to win. The Ravens have weak corners, so I'm hoping we can take advantage of that, but need to watch out for Ed Reed, whose an animal. That said, our offensive line hasn't shown anything, so whoever is QB will be running for their lives all afternoon.
Prediction: 17-10 Ravens (still not sold on Baltimore's offense)
